So let me get this straight. Any game liscence that was on the PS2 or PS1 makes its way to the PSP = uselss port. Ok. Is Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror a port since the game liscence was on a different console?

Basically Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is sort of a remake of the GBA games Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow. If you like the Castlevania series, you must then like repetetive dungeon crawls. It's the same in every game. Where is this new inventive style of gameplay that you like so much? They could have put that same game on the PSP. Hopefully Symphony of the Night will be on PSP soon. Which is a much better game than Dawn of Sorrow anyway.

I own a DS as well as a PSP. I like the idea of portable entertainment. Many of the Nintendo DS games I find nostalgic to a time when I first started playing video games. And I would be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to some DS games that will be released by the end of the year. FF3 looks amazing hands down. Children of Mana looks like it will be great as well. Personally though I still like my PSP better. Maybe I am a graphics whore who has been spoiled by systems with more powerful graphic's engine than the Super Nintendo.

If you like Nintendo games so much why would you even buy a PSP? Why? What would be the point. Metroid and Mario are never going to be on anything other than a Nintendo system. If you are saying things like, "My PSP is dusty in the corner. I turned it on for five minutes and then realized how much of peice of crap it was." That is ignorance or stupidty for buying the system in the first place. Pick one. Why would you complain about owning a handheld system that you obviously didn't do enough research about it's gaming library before you bought it? Doesn't that show that you are a poor uninformed consumer?

I dont see why people are saying the PSP sucks or that it is dead. While I own a DS and I love it, I find myself playing my PSP more ever since I got Tekken. The thing I don't like about DS games is that I find myself wanting to play them alot at first, and then I dont care. I played Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, NSMB, and Metroid on the DS. All of them are good games, but after beating them (or playiing them a lot) I dont feel a lot of incentive to go back. Now its not like the PSP isnt the same either. I havent played Burnout Lumines and SOCOM in a while, but thats mostly because Ive been too busy.

Also, one thing that annoys me is that people are saying all PSP games are ports. SO WHAT? Who the hell cares if a game is a port, as long as its good? Id rather play a great game thats been ported from another system than a terrible original game.

Now, on the subject of homebrew, Sony needs to stop fighting it. I imagine it takes lots of money to develop new firmware every time a new exploit is found. Also, on the point about homebrew hurting game sales, it isnt exactly easy to get a piece of homebrew running on the PSP, since it takes many steps to get it set up and then running. A UMD on the other hand, you just insert and play. Homebrew is there too entertain you when you want to take a break from a UMD game.

So, in case you dont want to read all that, my points are:

1. PSP is not dead, and both the PSP and DS have both the same strengths and weaknesses.

2. People need to stop complaining about ports to the PSP if they are GOOD ports (Tekken, Burnout, etc.)

3. Homebrew is good for the PSP, and I dont see it as the PSP's downfall, mainly due to the fact that homebrew takes time and knowledge to run.

To Ghostblur:

As gamers we like Nintendo. That doesn't mean we don't like other systems. Any gamer would want to try the PSP, especially on the strength of the PS1 and PS2. That's a given. And a lot of us did try it, and a lot of us were underwhelmed.

And let's get away from calling Castlevania a 'dungeon crawl.' The franchise is too classy for that.

True, except for the crappy 'dungeon crawler' PS2 games.

I have posted this point before but thought that it was worth saying that all the pawn brokers are full of PSP systems in Sydney Australia. I sold mine for next to nix $ and you can easily buy one for less than half price with a game or two. If you want one buy second hand then you dont feel ripped off for something that doesnt have much fun associated with it.

P.S - UMD & associated looooooong load times suck that true, and what is Memory Stick ffs? Grow up Sony!

I like how one defense people use for a system is "I see a lot more PSPs than DS!!". It wouldn't matter if there were overwhelming numbers backing up the opposite or if Sony flew to their house and told them to shut up, the PSP is dying, and it makes everyone associated with the PSP look dumb by saying it is doing good just because you see more people with a PSP than a DS.

Yes, even if all that happened they would still throw that line out there any time DS and PSP are brought up in the same sentence.

I saw more N64s (honestly I am not lying to make a lame argument) around that PSX. But did I lie to myself and think the N64 was not dying because I saw more of them? No. It was pretty obvious who was winning the console battle and that the N64 was slowly declining (not holding its own) at best.

But hey, keep pumping money into your PSP's library. Buy some more UMDs. There is absolutely no possible way you will be kicking yourself in the ass in the near future for it right? Afterall, you see more of them than DS. Screw those pesky independent sales charts. Lying commies.

PS. "I own both systems and I love the PSP more and play it more" or any variation of this.

So what? I knew someone who had a GB and a GG and played the Gamegear the majority of the time. He switched back as soon as he ran out of interesting stuff to play.

When the interesting stuff he had to play wasn't very interesting to me. Of course if you own both systems and say you play system X more than Y than there is no doubt that you speak for everyone that owns both as well.
