Taiko no Tatsujin Portable (or PORTABURUUUUU as they say in game) and Dai Gasso or both awesome choices for that list. I have 'em both, extremely easy to understand and fun to pick up and play.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan is quite possibly the best rhythm game I've ever played, and I'm someone who partakes in a lot of Rhythm based gaming. Be it Dance dance Revolution, Beatmania, Drummania, Samba de Amigo, Guitar Hero or Freaks, this game is easily as fun as any of them. the only one that gives it a run for it's money is DDR, and that's only because the physical part of DDR adds much to the experience there. Any DS owner owes it to themselves to pick Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan up, you will not be dissapointed.

I love Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, I got it in Japan at a Toys 'R Us (although the reciept said something along the lines of "Toisarusu") for 2700 yen and I probably should have bought more to sell to some people here. Best DS game yet!

Both Kessakusen! Ganbare Goemon 1+2 and the recent DS incarnation are now best sellers/budget titles in Japan, so they can be imported at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them both.

While I'm glad to see Daigasso, Mother 3, and Ouendan on the list, I want to know where Jump Superstars is on there. Sure, it'd rate a 3 or 4 on their list, but so worth it.

The Japanese version of Mr. Driller DS supports multiplayer on just a single cart. The US version was stripped of this feature making Mr. Driller fans cry in horror. Import worthy for this fact alone.

I actually already own Ganbare Goemon! 1+2. And it rocks all sorts of 2D goodness.
Granted, I can't read a lick of Japanese (and what sets the Mystical Ninja/Ganbare Goemon! games from other action/adventure series is its quirky humor), but the gameplay is still solid.
I also have the Famicom Mini version of the original Ganbare Goemon!
Yeah, I am a bit of a Goemon fan (I've all the English games but the Super NES one, and I've the complete anime series). I wanna import the DS version someday. That is, unless we can get some other publisher to get the rights to localize it (maybe Atlus? They like bringing over the wacky Japanese games here!).

I'm interested in getting into the Legend of Stafy series. I saw a copy of the first one used once at a local shop, but someone bought it before I had the cash to do so.

I played the GBA prequel to Kururin Paradise emulated long ago (it was released in Europe, but not America, so it was in English), and it was interesting, but I hadn't played it much.

Band Brothers... I hope we get it some day. NOA announced it as Jam with the Band long ago, and was hoping they'd release it when they had nothing better to release (like Electroplankton), but so far, that doesn't seem to be the case (DS is really picking up steam...).

Mother 3... Well, I'm just hoping the rumors of a EarthBound DS compilation are true.

Bleach DS... I don't like Bleach. Overrated shonen junk if you ask me. But the game is by Treasure (and has Wi-Fi!

And then there's Ouendan... Even though Elite Beat Agents is coming soon, I'd still like to get the JP version, since the two are very different.

hehehe, It always makes me feel happy on the inside that we got kuru kuru kururin as a launch title to it could be picked up for nexy to nothing for a brief period, while (for once) america missed out.

Ouendan is without a doubt the best thing you can put in your DS, I absolutley love the thing, it was pretty much the driving force for me buying one in the first place and was the first game i ordered for it. Oh ouendan

Are the cheerleaders supposed to be members of the government in Ouendan? If not, I'd get the Japanese one over the American one just for that distinction.

I picked up Ouendan a year ago from the (always excellent but sometimes overpriced) Pink Godzilla store in Seattle. Still am playing it today, which is a lot more than I can say for Mario Kart or Kirby.
