Not too many consoles connected just a Dreamcast, Gamecube & an Xbox 360. everythings connected by a scart block along with my sky+ PVR, and you have to keep a DS Lite handy. Its all hooked up through the 5.1 aswell, except for the DC. I think my setup is pretty sweet.

I've got a nes, 64, gamecube, ps2, dreamcast, and coleco hooked to my tv. Would have had the snes and atari too, but my brother pawned the snes (curses!), and I haven't bought the atari yet (more curses!).

Great post - I am looking to get a component switch box what with the Wii arriving in October. The main TV will have the 360, Wii and PS2 all hooked up, and the LCD monitor/TV will have the PC Engine, SNES, Genesis and Neo Geo CD and PSOne hooked up using its SCART socket. I have a convertor that turns RGB SCART into component which is waaay better than the RF some of you lot are putting up with for your 16-bit stuff. I think the older systems just look better on a CRT given the interlaced output.

I only have a modest collection (Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, GC, PS1, PS2, GBA, DS) but I do have a couple "enhancements" that give presentation points...

First, I modded the atari 2600 with a s-video output so that I can use cascading composite/svideo system selecters and not mess with RF switches. Then, I have all the systems stacked up on open-backed shelves, with a digital projector at the top to play everything on. Finally, I strapped a cheap box fan to the back of the shelves to help hide all the cords and make it "cool."

So, it's not the biggest collection out there, but it is fun to show off when friends visit.

This is my setup. To play some of them you need to pull the console out, but connections are solid. Pictured are a Pelican AV Selector Pro and a Joytech HD switcher, both swithcers have component, s-video, composit and several optical switching connecters. for a crand totla of 14 hd sources.

I have a pic on my iMac at home. Ive got a 30" hdtv and the following systems hooked up through a Pelican HDTV device switch. That thing is great. Not only does it have regular composit video and audio hookups, each slot has Ethernet, S_Video (which is great for the n64 and SuperNES), Component video and digital audio. Its the greatest thing in the world. I've got my SNES, Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, PS2 and xbox all hooked up to the HDTV for video, my Linksys Router for internet gaming, and digital / L/R stereo directly to my Aiwa digital home theater receiver (not to mention my comcast hdtv / dvr thats also hooked up w/ component video, digital audio and ethernet to my router) Its not the most extravagent home setup, but it suits my needs perfectly.

I can't really take a picture right now but all my consoles (all 14 of them) are connected to a few switches which connect to both the TV and the computer's capture card at the same time. Not only that but both the computer and the console switch is connected to the surround sound system.

No remotes are plugged in unless their being in use and when I'm done with something it gets twist tied back into the controller drawers. Yes, I am a neat freak XD

So to play a game all you need to do is press the power button on a console, press the appropriately labeled button on the switches, turn on the surround sound and turn on the TV. So sexy.

You could give it a shot, and try to get rid of ugly cables! Tie them all in the back with twist ties, Velcro and such so they are easy to play with later (not the controller cords, the console ones).
