After listening to the Cagcast in which Chris appeared in (#40) and watching these video interviews, I really think Joystiq could put out a great podcast. Who knows, if you guys ever end up making a podcast, it will put more pressure on Kotaku and will make both blogs that much better.
I was also wondering what happened to Robert. Is he afraid to post after that incident that ocurred earlier? I don't think anyone should be too mad at him . He does have the highest post count and usually puts up some interesting articles. You shouldn't hold a grudge against him because of one bad post.

Robert Summa was actually fired over the whole hype incident. Which is pretty sad, because now there is going to be a huge shortage in Joystiq stories. At least he seems to be fine with the whole ordeal. I'm sure he will move on to bigger and better things.
bv @ Sep 8th 2006 3:57PM
Robert was fired?? The guy has 146 posts in the past 30 days, not sure why 1 slip up would cause this. It's not Robert's fault that people are so damn sensitive.
Anyways, Chris did a great Cagcast guest appearance and I'm sure once i get home to a pair of speakers, this video will be just as solid. He's definitely a poster boy for the intelligent gamer.

I feel the same way bv. This is a huge dissapointment. I really enjoyed being able to read something new every 5-10 minutes on Joystiq. I'm pretty sure that won't be possible unless they hire a replacement or everyone else steps their game up a notch.
C. Grant @ Sep 8th 2006 4:01PM
We're working on a podcast, hope to have something done sooner than later! :)
C. Grant @ Sep 8th 2006 4:03PM
Grim, no worries, we've got several other writers already in the pipeline.
Chris Taran @ Sep 8th 2006 4:03PM
Has it been confirmed that Robert was fired? I seriously hope that is not the case. The whole hype thing just got over blown. I think it would be foolish to drop arguably one of the best poster that Joystiq has over a one time incident like this.
I was really looking forward to his reviews too...
Anyway, as for this interview, I loved it along with the previous one posted today. Great work Christopher!

Chris,
If you guy's do a podcast, you should get a new joystiq commenter each week as a guest. I think it would really make the show unique.
Grim @ Sep 8th 2006 4:09PM
That's good to hear Chris. I think Summa had just as many fans as he did enemies. It's still going to be hard to replace him.
C. Grant @ Sep 8th 2006 4:14PM
Pretty snazzy idea bv. First guest?
bv @ Sep 8th 2006 4:17PM
Hell ya!
Grim @ Sep 8th 2006 4:19PM
Yeah, that's a great idea bv. I would love to hear the top contributors opinions in a podcast.
cringer8 @ Sep 8th 2006 4:32PM
Another good interview.
One suggestion: Index cards. Possibly blue ones.
About the podcast, wouldn't it better to get the opinions of the "lower" contributors? For example...I don't know...the ones with two stars...wink wink, nudge nudge. j/k
Keep on truckin' with the original content, guys!
Chappy @ Sep 8th 2006 5:31PM
These video interviews are great; please keep them coming. You may want to position your question cue cards on the other side of the room however; the full body turns to the left were a little distracting :). Still, great job!

Whoa you got rid of the guy for that? That's pretty lame , joystiq. I had planned to check joystiq @ 12:01, figuring it was something wiicentric but I ended up forgetting. I'm a giant wii fanboy but the hype didn't seem that pressing.
Well, your loss I suppose, he'll find a spot somewhere else. Good luck Robert.

I enjoyed watching the larger .mov file this time around (great video quality, btw).
May I suggest using the combination of .mov format and embedded flash video as new the standard for all Joystiq posts? I'm sure this can't always be done, but it would be appreciated by many. Joystiq needs more of this type of original content, podcasts sound good too.
Anyways, awesome job on the interview(s) Chris, keep 'em coming...
exy @ Sep 8th 2006 7:18PM
I suppose it's too much to ask to get a "Goodbye Summa" post.
Nonetheless, I'd just like to say I've enjoyed and respected all of Robert's hardwork and dedication. This is probably as good a place as any to say...
Thanks for all your news posts Robert! Joystiq just won't be the same.
