I don't even know what to say to you, Help Line. First of all, how in the world are people that buy xbox 360 games and accessories comparable to people buying cigarettes? You bash Neecole's analogy about cars, and then try to pass off your calling people 'fags' as comparing them to cigarette purchasers? Where is your logic in that?

Dear Helpline,

For some people, it is easier to learn through analogies. The analogy that I made, makes sense to some people. My intention was to help people who don't understand the processes that these large companies go through when choosing marketing strategies. I am part of a Nintendo Community site, so I read about this daily. I fully understand Video Game Marketing Strategies, it is my responsibility to know as much as I can about the video game industry and to share my knowledge with others. Some people don't understand, so I decided to help them out. I did not just pull that out of my ass. If you don't understand what I was trying to say, you should do some research on the subject, before you tell me it doesn't make sense. There is a reason why Sony has such a strong fall lineup for PS2. Do you know what it is?

P.S. I said Pink DS Lite, not PSP.

You must have a lot of time on your hands if your complaining about the way I format my comments. I really didn't want to have to put the XBOX 360 owners vs. cigarette consumers analogy together for you but here we go...People that buy cigarettes are looking for a quick fix and when they see Joe Camel on that massive billboard they can't resist the temptation so they run to their local 7-11 and buy a pack. Xbox 360 owners also like the quick fix, why else would they rush out and buy a 360? They saw that shiny new Microsoft logo on a billboard and couldn't resist. The majority of cigarette buyers are also low-income and can't afford the premium packs of cigarettes. Xbox360 owners are similar, not only can they not wait for a PS3 but if they did they wouldn't have the funds to purchase one. It's pretty self explainitory really. To rub it in, Sony is using idle PS3's to fight cancer for god's sake. Shall I continue?

if we're making up arbitrary comparisons, I'll compare ps3 buyers to coked up businessmen:

they have so much money they don't mind throwing it away on something used for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES. Sure, they could just buy beer, it's cheaper and it lets you have a fun night, but this is COCAINE! it costs WAAAAAY more then beer, so it must be better!

because we all know, the more something costs, the better it is, right?

and actually, I do have a lot of free time.

I already put together a list.

Between now and the end of the year (assuming no delays) there are:
12 PS2 games I want to buy.
8 PSP games I want to buy.
3 360 games I want to buy.
4 GCN games I want to buy.
26! DS games I want to buy.
9 Wii games I want to buy.

Add to that there are 2 DS games I have been instructed that I must buy for my mother. Yeah, I think the DS wins, hands down.

That being said, if I could only buy one more video game this year, it would be Guitar Hero 2, so don't count the PS2 out yet. I suspect it will still be the #2 selling system this holiday season (right behind the DS, there simply aren't going to be enough Wiis or PS3s on the market to beat them).

And I gave Help Line a listen and they sound terribly generic. What's with this sudden influx of minimalistic repetition in recent years? Is it all of a sudden cool to use Casio keyboard beats and singing that sounds hopelessly sharp?

So did everyone hate the PS2 before, or did you just start hating it after E3 this year once Sony started being retarded. I never remember the old PS2 getting this much crap from people. Maybe it IS just the Sony hate going around (as justified as that may be).

There's only two games on there I give a damn about, Guitar Hero 2 and Okami. And I hate to say it, but with a limited budget, I don't think I'll bebuying. Too many 360 titles coming tht I want. Not to mention the Wii I need to buy.

How the fuck are some of you claiming the DS has a better fall/winter than the PS2? Between now and February the PS2 will be getting Okami, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, Bully, Final Fantasy XII, Guitar Hero 2, Metal Slug Anthology, Lumines Plus, Ar Tonelico, Children of Mana, Rogue Galaxy, and God of War 2 (plus the super fun Disgaea 2 that just came out).

All this on a system that came out a year BEFORE the XBOX and Gamecube, two systems that have been completely abandoned (except for Twilight Princess). This is why Sony can take as long as they damn well please in preparing the PS3.

god of war was a reinvention of devil may cry....uh red orbs everywhere, the way you level up, the chained together combos...so many things where from devil may cry it was rediculous...dont get me wrong i loved it but any game i beat in the 2nd day as a rental cant be considered a great game....

Oh please. Famitsu gave FFXII a perfect score. I would trust their judgment sliiiiiiiightly more than some web comic's.

Also, FFX is by far my favourite in the series. The most complex and engaging story, the funnest gameplay, the vastest end-game content...not even to mention fabulous graphics.

If I owned every console, the top 3 games I would buy would be
1. FFXII
2. Guitar Hero 2
3. Vice City Stories

long before any of the other ones. Way, waaaaay before. Oblivion would crack that list, but I'm going to buy it for my computer when I get the time, so the 360 doesn't get much in the way of bragging rights there. PS2 over PS3, 360, and WAY over the Wii, pour moi.

It's obvious. The Gamecube has the best launch lineup. It has... umm... Baiten Kaitos Origins (never played the other one)... uhh... Twilight Princess... which is also coming out on the Wii... Mario Solitare? Yeah, the Gamecube is the best hands down.

On Phantasy Star Universe:

"Currently number one on the Japan multiformat chart, and for good reason."

Yeah, the reason being that FF3 is sold out everywhere.

Easily a better Line-up and yet line-ups are all subjective!

I thought of it when reading about the incomprehensible DS sales juggernaut that goes on from week to week on the Japanese charts listings.

Immediately, knowing what I know about the potential of the Wii, I instantly saw Wii pulling similar styled showing on those charts.

Then naturally I put the two together knowing it was gonna be basically nothing but Wii & DS on the charts for the next 5 years & voila!

A new catchphrase was coined "WiiDS".
Then all the little sayings I came up with from that little joke.
I particularly liked "WiiDS: Yes, Clinton inhaled"
LOL! Inspired!
I hope it takes off similar to the Wii60.
