I don't think it was wise for Joystiq to post this with all the people claiming Joystiq is showing biased against Sony. But at the same time, if someone took the time to make this video with an Xbox instead, would the fanboys still complain?
The fact of the matter is, the majority of people are bashing sony on the web because they have made a plethora of really bad decisions and alienated a huge majority of not just consumers, but fans. So you have a lot of upset former sony fanboys posting lots of anti-sony stuff. So you would be hard pressed to find negative MS and Nintendo propaganda. But you don't have to even look to find anti Sony stuff. So, why blame joystiq. It was funny. If you have issue with the person who created it, fine, but Joystiq just pointed it out cause it was funny. If positive PS3 news is released... which I can't imagine what that might be... Joystiq will publicize that too. So enough with the whining already.

Untill someone released a wii and a 360 version its not anti-sony bias since its the only thing to show.

When joystiq chooses to ignore anti-wii and anti-360 propoganda in favour of anti-ps3 ones, THEN you can call them bias.

they are bias though in general, but who isnt a little annoyed with sony?

Sonybots dont count as they have no soul. the space is too full of sony PR to accommodate one.

I walked into Gamestop today, and asked about what was hot going into the holiday season.

Clerk started pushing the Wii60 combo platter HARD. He told me three times to forget about trying to get a PS3.

Retailers are obviously pissed about the small allotments. They want customers buying the Wii and the Xbox 360, plus games and accessories, rather than spending the whole holiday season on a waiting list where only a small subset will become paying customers.

I don't know why I didn't think about it before today, but Sony is facing a very hostile retail environment now because of the small allotments, and the effects of that are going to extend beyond the holiday season.

Its the Sony fanboys that consider it "bashing".. The small percentage of us that are actually sane find it quite amusing.. (Sane here!) I was considering to purchase a PS3 but with all the BS coming out of that camp, I would much rather take a dump on the console at this particular moment than buy it at any price..

Ken says, "$600.00!!"
Sane says, "whaaaaaaaa?"
Ken says, "How about fiveeeeeeee hundreds mmmmmm'dollars?"
Sane says, "Are you fucking kidding me??"
Ken says, "Xbox 1.5!! I say three hundreds of dollars?"
Sane says, "Go to hell you SOB.."
Ken says, "I go there, it fun. New offfer!! Two hundreds and fifty's dollars Americans?"
Sane says, "I'll pay you $250 if I can just take a dump on your Ps3 aka BluRay player first.."
Ken says, "Deal!! Mmmmmm' dollars Americans..Mmmmm."

Some of you people keep saying Sony is biased? Alright. Let's say Joystiq really is biased against Sony. Let's say they are conspiring with Nintendo to destroy the Playstation image. So what? We're all biased. From the moment we are born we form opinions about certain things, and those opinions form our biases. Live with it. The challenge is to not let those biases reflect in our communications with other people. If you're tired of Joystiq, go somewhere else. Or, I suppose you could continue to annoy people by telling us the same things you've been saying for countless months now.

If anything, I almost see it as a testament to Joystiq's quality that the people who supposedly hate this site so much stick around to read the posts they can't stand.

Lighten up guys. Joystiq didn't make the video, they just found it and thought it was worth sharing.

Did we all forget the 360 bash-fest that was the Xbox 360 launch? Remember the "360 annoyances"? Or the post after post about the 360 shortage? How about the constant raving about the power supply? What was people's response? "just ignore it" or "don't read it", or vlad's response

"We're a group of writers, and as such we write about games in ways that surprise, delight (and sometimes) enrage you. The only way for 100% of our readers to be happy with 100% of our posts is for us to drop our audience size to 1. ;) You can't please everyone."

http://joystiq.com/search/103/?q=360+launch

That is just one page from december. Keep going back, or forward, if you like. There was one interesting post somewhere somewhere close to there about CNN's prediction that the ps3 would cost $500.

What in the hell are any of you talking about with Joystiq bashing Sony? In all honesty, have any of you taking issue with Joystiq's supposed bias related to this thread actually watched the video? At absolute worst, the endeavor painted the PS3 as an arrogant high-pitched hermaphrodite with an affinity for girl-toaster love. I'm not sure about anyone else, but that screams to me "joke".

That's a lot of money to spend on a console, but if one really wants it, then no matter how low or high the price, they will buy it.
With PS3 there is a lot of potential, with possible upgrades in the future to make the system almost future proof.
I think that we have to wait and see what happens next after this console is officially out to truly give Sony a chance to save face.
If the system is capable of the type of graphics they have been touting for so many years where it rivals that of the Final Fantasy movies, I'll be willing to add the console to my collection.
It's all about the games with me, without them, and having the potential to make great games don't exactly go hand and hand.
Everyone, everything has potential, but what us as gamers want are results.

Well, joystiq, if you are making reference to B.T.U./thermal output [read: runs HOT!] you're probably not far off base. Solution: do as I did with my 360-go to Radio Shack and get a couple of el cheapo plug in fans and direct them into the intake ports. Works for me!

And I'm sure you'll get one even though you don't have a job, because it's against the law to hire people under 16. Where's my allowance, mommy? It's nice to know that you mommy and all of your friend's mommies are so fucking stupid that they will buy you a $600 video game system. And let me guess, you're going to hook it up to your daddy's HD tv but you won't be allowed to play when he wants to watch his "shows" adn football. You are sooo awesome. You p0wn life itself.

"I'm like a toaster with male and female parts - and I can hack into the White House!"

Guys - lighten the hell up about something like this. It's humor, and it wasn't created by Joystiq, they're simply blogging about it. Geesh - you'd think Joystiq was ABC and made a movie that said bad things about the Clinton White House, as upset as you all are about this bit of humor.

@Raikage > - "I hope some Anti-Sony fanboy has a fundraiser to buy a PS3 and install a toaster in it...and make Pop-tarts..." - Well, based on how hot the thing is going to be, you COULD always just put a your pop-tart on top of it for for a couple of minutes and it'll cook, anyway.

I just want to throw this out there:

How many people are honestly considering tryin gto get a PS3 at launch? I don't mean eventually, but at launch.

And this doesn't apply to teens whose mommies are going to buy them systems (I'm looking at you non-believer)

Although I'm intersted in the system, it just seems like too much BS to deal with, and I don't want to be a $600 Beta tester for Sony. Remember the initial PS2s? Stores were recommending warranties due to the high rate of failure, and likewise with 360s.

My gamecube on the other hand.....

Yeah, that's a good point. Let's face it, if you don't have a hidef set what's the point? A PS3 and an HDTV set that can disply 1080p will run you $3000. That's way too much for all of the bullshit that's gone n so far with the PS3. I might consider it after two years of price drops but....

#38 Fanbot....In response to your inquiry: Yes, I'm very much interested in the PS3 at launch! Also have a 360 and I'm going to sit back and just see how that Wii controller works out-if it works out, it's a go too! The bigass problem I'm finding up here in Canada in my area is that the big retailers seem to be backing away from even participating in doing pre-orders. Only one so far that IS a go is Futureshop [who,I might add, had a very successful 360 launch] The others got their pee-pees whacked on the 360. What a bummer!

I would not accuse Joystiq of bias. The editors more or less make their interests clear, but they're not skewing things.

The readers, however, are another story...only 3 people whined about anti-Sony bias, but about 30 people felt the need to shout down those 3, and most of them made ridiclous/stupid/childish comments during the process. But hey, at least people who buy a 360 or Wii will have *one* entertaining game this fall - rabid message board ranting.

Anyone can put up a phone or lay some cash down for "insurance", but I'd rather know that when I get to my town's EB 10 minutes before opening on launch day I won't have to worry about them already being gone or something like that before I step through the door.
