PS3: better than a toaster?

For serious gamers this holiday season, there is really only one question: whether to buy a PS3 or a toaster. Thank goodness there's now a video guide to the relative benefits of each unit. According to the video, while the PS3 excels with its myriad cords and inputs, excellent love-making ability and saucy German attitude, the toaster is definitely the choice for fans of toast and Pop Tarts. We're a little skeptical of the video's claims that the PS3's self-replicating ability will ensure plentiful supplies at launch, but it's still worth due consideration.

Are you kidding? Yeah, I'm sure Joystiq gets money from MS and Nintendo everytime they run a piece that isn't pro-Sony. Talk about a conspiracy theory. Sorry, but Sony just isn't getting it done. The comment by KK is not referring to the PS3 but the company as a whole, so don't get your panties in a bunch.

@48, Don't pull MS in. Joystiq were accused of being Anti 360 before and I believe they still do. All harsh comments on 360/PS3 and excellent praises about Wii make me wonder.....

It's good that Joystiq bashes Sony, maybe that will convince enough people to not buy one at launch.

I am getting seriously tired of this Wii Powerup and PS3 bashing. I am a Wii fan and it will most likely be the only next-gen console i will pick up unless the 360 or ps3 will be affordable one day which you know they will...
But really it's been annoying me a lot. I mean for someone who loves the Wii wayyyy more than the ps3 to come and say that its time to stop with the ps3 bashing is pretty bad.
People love it when there is as little bias as possible so please keep it as universal as possible.

Actually it's probably just one idiot whining about bias and logging in as different names each time. But seriously can we stop this immature crap now? Long before Joystiq existed I remember dumb shits writing into EGM ten years ago whining about their bias against Nintendo/Sega/Sony or whoever. It's time to grow up and realize that everyone has bias (or as sane people call it, 'opinions') built into everything they think or do. Getting offended because somebody has an opinion different from your own is the height of arrogance and immaturity.
Not everybody you meet in life will have your same opinions. In fact most of them won't. Time to learn how do deal with this in another way besides crying about how unfair it is that someone disagrees with you.
And Socrates, it gives me some hope in the human race to know that 3 ignorant people started bitching about nonsense and 30 others put them in their place. (it does concern me that you actually took the time to tabulate that) Ignorance doesn't deserve respect or even equal treatment. And you don't have the right to not be offended.

On the one hand the PS3 is powerful and will play all sorts of neat games like that new game about...something.
On the other hand the toaster can cook food.
I'll take the toaster. Besides, they'll make em play video games someday. I can't wait Burnt Bread Revolution or P0P T4RT Mania or Spore or...
