Did Peugeot leak the PGR4 release date? Doubtful.
A design contest from French automaker Peugeot has spawned some massive speculation on the future release date of Project Gotham Racing 4. According to the rules, any contest winner will have his or her concept car included in PGR4, " exclusively on Xbox 360 that will be released towards the end of 2007 or first half of 2008."Would any of this be surprising? The last three PGR games were all released two years apart (2001, 2003, and 2005) -- thus, by induction, 2007 would be the release date for the third sequel. Also, developer Bizarre Creations has worked exclusively with Microsoft for the last four years, and the entire PGR series has been Xbox-exclusive.
This "leak" is probably nothing more than an educated guess. The existence of Project Gotham Racing 4, a sequel to three critically-acclaimed racing games, is about as surprising as the existence of gravity (hey, it's only a theory). A 2007 / early 2008 release would put Bizarre right on track. However, don't hold the developer accountable if they miss a deadline set by an unrelated, outside party.
In other news, sources tell us PGR4 will include some fast cars and "race tracks." It is unconfirmed whether or not J Allard will make an appearance.

"a sequel to three critically-acclaimed racing games"
Four, really if you count MSR too. Which I do.

I will go out on a limb here and suggest that the next Zelda title will be out in the fall of 2008. You heard it here first, folks. And if it doens't happen, by 2008 you'll have forgotten I said a thing about it.

Not that I'm not looking forward to the fourth installment- I am.
But do we have to wait that long for Geometry Wars 2 as well?

Employees of Microsoft have already said they want to have a Project Gothem racing or a Forza game come out every year. It was in an interview Major Nelson did with the Forza guys.
Personally as soon as Microsoft said Forza 2 I knew I'd be buying a 360, when the game comes out. After I bought the game my husband and I played it togther almost every night for 3 months durning the winter. He hardly ever plays video games but loves motorsports. Also when there's two feet of snow on the ground outside, it was nice to have at least a game to play around with race cars.

I don't know how exclusive it is since PGR 1 was really the same as Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast =D
Does this studio have the strength of a studio making two large games, isn't the Club do out next year also?

next time, they need to make PGR run at 60 fps like the first installment. it's an embarassment to run games at 30-40 fps on a next-gen console that's supposed to be all that and a bag of chips.

It doesn't discount its newsworthiness just because it's seemingly inevitable, especially to news-hungry, speculative news outlets.
