Sneak peek at WoW's Burning Crusade dance moves

Funny, well-choreographed avatar dances are one of WoW's many frivolous delights, and the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion (due November 16) looks set to continue the fun with the addition of these Draenei and Blood Elf routines.

After lifting their moves from French coquette Alizee, female Night Elves have been the dancing queens of Azeroth for nigh on two years now. Do the unfinished animations shown in this video presage a transfer of title to their Blood Elf sisters? They can dance, they can jive...

I would not be surprised if WOW did not release the expansion this November. Considering the release of PS3 and WII at this time, this expansion will prove that WOW has the strength to blow away all consoles.
It will also take some of the hype away from the new console launches.

Most sites still say November, but the way Blizzard talks it'll be next year.

Good lord, people! I know that Napoleon Dynamite did that dance, but where do you think he GOT those moves? Those are still pretty standard disco moves! Though I suppose anyone born after the 70s would have no clue what "disco" even was.

Hmm thats strange. In GW when the preview was on for ritualists and assassins, the ritualists could do the napolean dance. But that got changed to the ranger dance on release.
And now blood elves are doing the napolean dance?
Sounds like Blizzard and NCsoft had a fight over something :P

Wow, the dance of the Male Blood Elf looks really familiar where did I see it before...OH YEAH! Guild Wars has that dance already. Other than that the Tunak dance was pretty clever. Everything else, woo? Does how your online Avatar dance really mean that much to people that they with either play or not play a race? I'm glad I gave up WoW to expensive to just do the same raids every week in and week out.

Do you *really* think Blizzard chose those moves randomly from the decade of disco? They are using the popularity of Napoleon Dynamite to sell their expansion. That was their intention. Obviously, it's working, since everyone that saw the clip recognized the dance as Napoleon’s.

Get a clue. Disco doesn't sell; pop culture does.

The Female Blood Elf dance is modeled after Beyonce, not Britney Spears. Maybe not EVERY animation directly, but the gist of 'em seem to be modeled after her.
