Video games channel launched on ESPN.com

ESPN launched a new 1UP co-branded video games channel last week on their website, ESPN.com which is the 30th largest website according to Alexa traffic. The online venture is presented (read: sponsored) by GameTap, the online game subscription service and intends to deliver sports game news, reviews, trailers, podcasts, vidcasts, and interviews but only seems to be handling news and reviews at the moment through direct cloning of 1UP content (see this vs that).

If anything, the current site offers less obtrusive ads than 1UP for sport gamers, but not much else in terms of differentiation. We'll look out for the podcasts, vidcasts (that's suppose to be Web 2.0, right?), and interviews, however. An RSS feed would be nice as well.
