Bill,

I find it hard to watch you try to support your argument with ridiculous invalid factual information.

I dont even understand how you can believe you are right/accurate in your assesments.

I have a psp as well, but lets face it...it has garabge software. For every 1 psp game you can name that is 'decent' I can name 3 for DS that are better (yes I relize thats opinion, but I believe it to be popular opinion).

I haven't bought a single game for psp since its launch, when I bought 3 games. I keep wiating fora Square Enix game or a dope capcom game, but I don't see it happening yet. :/

I just bought my first PSP game nearly a year, LocoRoco, and there doesn't seem to be anything else good on the horizon. By contrast, here's a short list of the upcomming DS games I'll be buying:

Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Children of Mana
Final Fantasy III
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
DK: King of Swing

For those keeping track, that amounts to over $200 in software sales going to Nintendo... vs. $35 going to Sony. It's really no wonder PSP sales are suffering; Where are all the good games?!!

What truly, genuinely sucks about PSP is that there great games for it...in Japan.

Star Soldier - great sh'mup
Every Extend Extra - could've been called Rez 2
Naruto - Fantastic cell-shaded fighting game
Bleach 3 - 3rd in the excellent 3D fighting series
Taiko no Tetsujin 2 (aka Taiko Drum Master)

Why isn't this stuff released in the U.S.?

After reading through some of the rumors posted here and in other places, I must say I'm impressed at how close some of them are to the truth. I'm currently on my way to New York for Nintendo's conference, but now is a perfect time to shed a little light on the information you will have by the end of the week.

Many people have been letdown by Nintendo's previous conferences. Hopes were high, only to be brought down hard by the lack of information. The same won't be said of these conferences. This week, and for the rest of the month in fact, gamers will finally see the entire next gen picture Nintendo has in store.

I'll save some of the more...angelic revalations of the conferences unspoiled, but offering up a little insight on other issues certainly won't hurt:

Budget Bundle:

Wii system, one Wii remote w/nunchuck attatchment=$179.99

Family Bundle:

Wii system, two Wii remotes w/nunchuck attatchments, one Virtual Console download credit, Wii Sports pack in=$229.99

-Launch Date: November 5th
-Metroid Prime 3 delayed (Feb 2007)
-Wii DJ announced (iTunes supported)
-nSpace FPS announced
-Wii Smimming included in Wii Sports
-Harry Potter Wii exclusive launch title (EA)

FYI:

NPD Sales Figures (US)

Month: DS / PSP

Apr: 138,427 / 162,438
May: 145,930 / 159,659
Jun: 593,000 / 221,000
Jul: 377,000 / 161,000
Aug: 278,000 / 146,000

from the charts at PCvsConsole

PSP also has suffered a drop, as other have noted. We'll see if the DS dips back to it's original level, but with all the games coming out soon, I doubt it will. I plan on picking up a DS Lite in the next 2-3 months, definitely before holiday travelling starts, and I'm sure many other people have similar plans.
