foppe....what is your point why dick ride vincent when you didnt have to this was was a response to what somepne said so here i go again. the wii mote to me is like the blu ray player inj PS3 i cant agreed with its more advanced its not that Goddamn advanced get over it yes it sounds cool but advanced umm no...2 or three cores on a die thats advance (and no im npt comparing to 360 or ps3 im talking about hardware in general) so ok its $10 more,
but what does that have do with me saying i always buy two. That alone let you know wasnt about the money.....and like i said when i go away on business I watch movies and play games excuse for not playing all the fucking time!!! but im allowed to watch a movie thank you.

"The principle that you could pay more for a Xbox 360 with a extra controller and a game then what you will pay for a Wii with a bundled game and a extra controller?"

againg this isnt about the money the wii was marketed at being priced "well" below the other system and it isnt. This wasnt about when i buy games afterward

So they have no money to buy a DVD player but they will have the money to buy a DVD movie?

hmm how about they have dvd's already and with all the other christmas shopping money is low happens a lot wh ere im from Like i said IT JUST WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE!!!!!!!

EVERYTHING that can play DVD movies HAVE to pay a fee to the copyrightowner of the disc system. Every sold PS2 gives a fee to this organization. Microsoft was smart enough to put the license on the DVD remote so the system was cheaper. Do the system developers pay that fee from their own pockets? No, they let the buyers pay it. So if Wii was a DVD, it would cost more to buy it.

Didnt you ninty boys let the world know that ninty does and will make a hella profit for 250 for the wii and they're racking it in i can build a faster pc for 250 so like i said on this one they're racking it in

Yea, AMAZON.COM was taking preoders yesterday starting in the morning but ended at 11 am cst. They sold all of their units that they were promised I guess. Just goes to show how popular this system will be.

I will definitely be waiting in line for 15 hours in front of target like I did for the 360. The preorder game is not for me. Its an experience

Ok... let's have a look at this.

We're paying $249.99 euros or dollars for a console which doesn't stand up to the processing nor graphics standards of next gen systems, when Nintendo had announced this would be so in order to make the console cheap. Is it really "cheap"? It may be packed with a game, but that is a $20 dollar/euro game, and one I'm sure most of us wasn't really looking forward to. So it's more of Nintendo knowing the game won't sell well if it were to be sold separately and thus imposing it on us, than giving us a game to play upon buying the system. Don't forget too none of the 3rd party games to be released this year will have online play. So while the console is cheapER than its competitors, it is not cheap.

Also, I know many of you may have dvd players, but don't you think that the Wii, being aimed to be used by the hole family, and a living room centrepiece (as claimed by Nintendo), should have a DVD playback feature? Or at the very least, the possibility of adding such feature? Think about your parents. Don't you think it would be easier for them to just use one remote (the Wii's) for all? Not having so many gadgets can be really nice, especially for them. And for us, less cables hooked up. Personally I'd like to have the console come without Wii Sports and be able to play DVD movies, knowing that I can later get the game for only $20.

Why do European people have to $62 dollars more than what people in the US will pay? I know regional markets are different from each other, but $62 is quite a big number. You can an extra game for that much. And now that they have taken back that the console will be region free, importing is not an option. Really, where they mocking us when they said the Wii would be less than $250 dollars/euros and they announced $249.99?
(And let's not get into the Latin American case where it is said to be released at $649 dollars)

What I'm trying to say here is, while I love the Wii, Nintendo has been (ironically) "breaking promises". And we still can do something about it. So why not email Nintendo asking them to add DVD playback support or to at least lower the price?

With only 512 MB of onboard memory, were are the Legacy games stored? On memory cards? And as I understand it, the Wii will read both nintendo memory cards as well as SD cards, but on which are the game-saves stored on?

Thanks

Yeah I have a $1500 quality DVD player and I'd rather watch my DVDs on a toy gaming system for the sake of convenience or to save a couple of wires.

Let's see. I want to watch movies at a hotel but I'm too cheap to pay for pay per view. Maybe I'll get a portable DVD player - one that is thin and light and almost the size of a discman, but then again maybe I'm too cheap for that. Hmmm, I got an idea let's take a clunky video game console for "business" travel so I can watch DVDs. Being poor/cheap really sucks.
