i wonder how happy Nintendo will be about about this. afterall Nintendo decide who gets what stock. it all looks bad on Nintendo if people can't get the system because of crap like this.

This scares me. Although I'm not in Hawai`i right now (college in Indiana; yeah, I know, why are didn't you just stay *home*), this is sort of disturbing. You mean, I would have to quite possibly turn in my PS2 or GameCube or a whole bunch of games just to get a Nintendo Wii? Who came up with that marketing tactic?

D:

I live on Guam... I was going to go pre-order from gamestop later today. I guess not. I'm not parting with my beloved games!

Um...Why not just go to a normal store on launch day, like Circuit City, etc.?

yeah, i live in hawaii. we probably suffer from hardware shortages more than any other state. past launches have been disasters. i'm on my way to gamestop with a bundle of games under my arm as i type this. sucks, but that's how it goes.

Hey, I was wondering is it practical to not preorder and just go to a Target or something on launch day? I've never gotten a system on launch before and I want to know the best way to get one on the day it comes out, meaning no internet and I don't know if stores like Target or Best Buy do preorders. Those are like the only stores in ym area that sell video games.

I'm planning on paying for the whole thing with traded-in Gamecube and games anyway. I'm only keeping 5 or 6 games.

#4, Where in Hawaii? I live on the Big Island and yes, past shortages have sucked. I had to bribe my brother and a security guard to stay overnight in a wal-mart parking lot on new years when the 360 launched. I have yet to see advertisements for this offer at local GameStops. They're a rip anyway...

I'm on Oahu. I went today and pre-ordered, turns out that today is the only day they were even TAKING any pre-orders, so good thing I went. And even with a pre-order, I only have a guaranteed spot in the line when it comes out. Lame.

I live in Hawaii too on Oahu. No way is this going to fly. Me and my friends are already looking to other stores to pre-order.

Here in Canada Toys r Us is taking pre orders though its a "larger" bundle that includes the regular stuff (Wii Sports) but also includes another game and controller. No details on the 2nd game though.
