44. Romanization is worthless.

Not to mention everyone does it a different way. Emo would be correct as it is phoenetically accurate. So both imo and emo are correct.

Just look at the kunrei-shiki and the hebon-shiki. Both romanize differently. While the poster didnt exactly use a standard romanization method. He is still correct based on the percieved pronounciation of the word.

My point with the Kanji is that you wont see jagaimo or imo romanized in japan. You might see potato, but very very rarely are actual japanese words romanized, thus it is a worthless practice.

2 of the bands I really like because they are Christian bands--Relient K and Emery. But I have to disagree that they are emo...maybe Emery could pass as emo but definately not Relient K.

"24. I've had tickets to this for a month or so, I don't give half a damn about the bands I just wanna play the Wii, and I shall do so the entire time. I'll bring earplugs or something. Horray free tickets!

... and ...

"43. I'm going to the Fusion Tour next friday in Detroit, and i'm going only for the games, not the music.

... I'm sure you two are the ~ONLY~ people in the entire world that are going to this thing to get your hands on the village Wii. Nobody else will be going, after all, and there will be more Wii consoles and controllers out there than people who want to play them. Heck, I bet there aren't even time restrictions on them...

I'd have to agree with Rev's comment (#19) about making more accessible kiosks to get more product familiarity. Which do you think got more people to buy a 360... Zero Hour, or the kiosks in retail stores and game stores?

I really hope we, the general gaming pubic who choose NOT to go to concerts and the like can get some hands-on time with both the Wii and PS3 *BEFORE* they launch. I think that Mall and department store kiosks are the way to do that.

I went last year, when they had Mario Kart DS and Zelda TP beofre launch in Providence, RI.

One warning to concertogers (Hawthorne Heights makes me wanna puke my pants)- Make sure you know where you're going. Last year, they ushered us into the main area, instead of the lobby (where the GAMES were). They told me to tell a guy to stamp my hand to see the games then come back in (I was big on Fall Out Boy and Motion City Soundtrack... MCS is still awesome).

The guy wouldn't let me out. My friend, a hige N fanboy, got go leave during the third and fourth bands (MCS and Starting Line) and play. I wanted to see MCS so I stayed.

Lesson: Many security guards are assholes.

I don't know why people have to generalize bands and people as "emo"... At least one of these bands(Relient K) isn't "emo", and I have a feeling some of the other bands probably aren't either.

Too bad none of the bands are emo. If anything, its a goofy ass post-punk/rock show with the misnomer of 'emo'.

The guy who said "Emo is Japanese for Potato" was going by pronounciation, not romanization. :P

So no playable Wii in malls or stores? That sucks...

Yeah.. Hawthorn Heights may be typical emo but Relient K is far from emo it's more like pop punk/rock plus emery is emocore with a more screamo edge and definitly not whiney. I'm looking forward to going to the show.

It's unfortunate how closeminded you all are.

Really, Relient K and Emery are both amazing bands, neither of which are "emo" as you all call it, however, no matter what you say, there is not a current genre called "emo". Relient K is very much a pop-punk band, who put on a very fun show, and Emery is very in between a lot of genres, but they're also very enjoyable live or recorded. They were also very good acoustic.

However, no matter how you cut the cheese, Hawthorne Heights is just shitty music.

Meh. Well I don't know what your problems are... But I had a good time. The wii is looking to be pretty awesome, and I think because of this tour, more people will go out and get one, so it serves its purpose.

Relient K are awesome people, by the way. Fun and polite in person. They're a Christian band (and I believe Emery is, too.) I don't think it's possible to be Christian and "Emo." That's like being extremely happy about life and extremely resentful about it at the same time. Emos need their former boyfriend/girlfriend. Christians need Jesus. :-)

RK just doesn't "advertise" that they're a Christian band. Most people wouldn't listen to them if they thought that they were because their hearts are so hard. I think it's a good way to get good messages across, myself. :-)
