For some reason, I have the same problem. MGS3 was on the shelf (in my house, not at the store) for exactly a year, until one day, I just got the urge to beat it. I think MGS2 was the same way, I was almost finished, and then got bored somewhere around the torture chamber. Then about a year later, I finished it.

Same problem with all of the Final Fantasies though.

@ Lou -- interesting! It's nice to see I'm not the only one with this "problem". Maybe it has something to do with the massive hype and "wow this is the best game in the universe you must beat it instantly" atmosphere of the bigger titles. I dunno. Big name games and I... just... we take our time.

Yeah, that happened to me with FFVII and I still haven't finished it.

Anyway, they're supposed to be showing some MGS4 gameplay in a couple of days, right? That should be interesting.

ndoerr,

I have a stack of "to-do" games for all the consoles. For PS2 specifically there's Xenosaga II still needs to be finished, then I can start on III, ICO, Nightshade, and a couple of others I can't think of at the moment.

It happens. Play to your mood, not mood to your play, ya know?

I was going to give Metal Gear Solid another try on Gamecube and Xbox. The MGS3 was just not my type of game (no stabbing aligators...please...), but I still want to try the other two. I'll probably give MGS4 a whirl

SuicideNinja -- this goes for everyone, really. Just call me Nick. It'd make me feel a little more, I dunno, personable? Anywho, I've actually got a stack of "to-do" titles as well. May as well compare!

My GameCube one is really small. Just Resident Evil Zero and Wind Waker. PS2 isn't too bad (let's ignore the PSX pile...). I've got Grandia 3, Robotech Battlecry (very good, but very, very hard), Ico, Digital Devil Saga 2, Shinobi (I know... but I gotta try), and... uh... Radiata Stories. I'm such an RPG nut. With that in mind, I'm going back to play Skies of Arcadia now. Dreamcast, baby!
