Weird Al, FTW!
Weird Al's latest video revels in all things nerdy, from speaking Klingon, to playing Minesweeper, to the Star Wars kid. And check out that sweet Pac-Mac background done up in red flares. As always, the video is embedded after the break. While we're waiting on the next awesomeness to come out of TGS, it seems like we've just been caught white and nerdy.

Amir Ali @ Sep 21st 2006 9:55PM
OMG, the actual song (Ridin') Is the most annoying song ever made. Thank God for Weird Al. This version is way better than Chamillionaire's crappy song.
Probot @ Sep 21st 2006 6:40PM
Great video. Almost as good "All About the Pentiums"

Haha, funny lyrics. Surprisingly I love this.
Micah @ Sep 21st 2006 6:53PM
I've been listening to the song practically nonstop, whether actually on my PC, or just in my head. Not a bad song to have stuck in one's head, though. It makes me smile! =D

Thy Freak @ Sep 21st 2006 6:58PM

"I've been listening to the song practically nonstop, whether actually on my PC, or just in my head. Not a bad song to have stuck in one's head, though. It makes me smile!"
So have I. At first, I thought it was a little sad, but I know of other people who are doing the same thing. It's so great!
Sagan @ Sep 21st 2006 7:07PM
My minesweeper highscores:
9 sec
53 sec
142 sec
They were a little better once, but I had to reinstall windows.
warbleflit @ Sep 21st 2006 7:20PM
Does anyone know who the guy is dancing with Al when he's on the white backdrop? My hubby and I just can't tell.
Probot @ Sep 21st 2006 7:21PM
Warbleflit,
To me, it looks like Donny Osmond. I may be wrong though.
Michael @ Sep 21st 2006 7:24PM
thanks for the vid hadn't seen it yet. sometimes weird al isn't funny this one was good though.
Bryant @ Sep 21st 2006 7:36PM
Donnie Osmond, warbleflit.
tactics @ Sep 21st 2006 7:55PM
dude i love weird al so much. i hope to GOD this means he'll be dropping a whole new album soon.
-"superfan" tactics.
Pheonix Gamma @ Sep 21st 2006 7:36PM
I like how he plays minesweeper....with the keyboard...
Nmaster @ Sep 21st 2006 7:45PM
Half of that song just described me...
I do know JavaScript, although I lack the Klingon. At one point I could actually speak a form of Elvish though...
excelsior @ Sep 21st 2006 7:49PM
lol, check out the wikipedia page. he's saying you suck on the atlantic records page, the same guys who banned the 'you're pitiful' song.
AJP @ Sep 21st 2006 7:48PM
It's absolutely Donny Osmond. Good eye.
More goodies:
-The Wikipedia page he edited was for Atlantic Records
-Osmond and Al dance in front of Schrödinger's wave equation for hydrogen
-On the Trivial Pursuit card:
1. (Geography) In what city is the largest ball of twine built by one man?
2. (Entertainment) What's the deal with Lindsay Lohan? I mean, seriously?
3. (History) F.D.R. -- Was he faking it?
4. (Arts & Literature) On what page does Harry Potter die in the next book?
5. (Science & Nature) What is the melting point of a gorilla's head?
6. (Sports & Leisure) How many Wicket men are there on a 43-Man Squamish team?
-MySpace Friends: Bill Gates, Napoleon Dynamite, Mr. Peabody, Albert Einstein, Screech, Frodo, Pee Wee Herman, and of course, Tom Anderson
bayushisan @ Sep 21st 2006 8:04PM
This is the most awesome song ever. I'm so picking up the new album on the 26th :) Yet again Weird Al proves why he's my hero.
jake @ Sep 21st 2006 8:08PM
M.C. Escher is my favorite MC.
Richard Mitchell @ Sep 21st 2006 8:19PM
Weird Al is the best. He filmed UHF in my hometown (Tulsa, OK). Can't wait to pick this up.
retromancer @ Sep 21st 2006 8:29PM
I like how Tycho from PA refrenced this in his last news post
(check his sig line)
and it's strange that Weird al makes a more convincing rapper than kevin federline.
Dansk @ Sep 21st 2006 8:24PM
A++
Would listen to again.
BusterSpace @ Sep 21st 2006 10:53PM
Weird Al albums always sneak up and get released with out my knowing. Sweet tune, I LOL'd while I watched it.
geekRECON @ Sep 21st 2006 9:57PM
Woohoo, SEGWAY!
Wulkar @ Sep 21st 2006 9:08PM
weird al kicks ass
therpham @ Sep 21st 2006 9:27PM
I found this the other day and have been playing it at high volume several times a day.
Pleasant.
Jonn @ Sep 21st 2006 9:44PM
Okay, I actually do put mayo on everything.
I was hoping for an update of "All about the Pentiums"(perchance "All about the Athlons"), but this is even better.
Oh, and Kirk would win. Picard is still cooler.
JimJimBinks @ Sep 21st 2006 9:36PM
I love this song, can't get enough of it. Hadn't seen the video yet, I fell out of my chair when he pulled out the Star Wars Holiday Special. That's almost exactly the same way I ended up with a copy.
Ryan @ Sep 21st 2006 9:36PM
Obviously Weird Al made a much better song with this beat than Chamillionaire did. I wish it was a little bit longer though.
ST @ Sep 21st 2006 9:45PM
@retromancer
Weird Al actually has talent. It's something that's sordidly lacking in music lately.
smashpro @ Sep 21st 2006 9:48PM
One of the best music videos I've ever seen, just for seeing Pac-man done up in red flares
CP229 @ Sep 24th 2006 4:32PM

I did the same thing when he whipped the "star wars holiday special", that there made my day.
X-Rayden @ Sep 21st 2006 10:26PM
The new CD is called "Straight Outta Hollywood" i think... it got a 10min53sec song about a casual couple stori "stuck in the drive throught" and a Pro(kinda)-RIAA song called "Dont download this" ...
my favorite is called : "Canadian Idiot" ... cauze i'm one... and i do prononce "Z" Zed!!!!!
warbleflit @ Sep 21st 2006 10:37PM
35, it's actually called Straight Outta Lynnwood.
Infil @ Sep 21st 2006 10:42PM
The album is called Straight Outta Lynwood, and comes out on the 26th. Weird Al fans will not be disappointed (I have, uh, somehow... heard... the album already...) But I still plan on buying it. It's possibly his best album to date.
And I wouldn't be going too far to say White and Nerdy is his best parody ever, even though he doesn't do the 3rd verse (aww). Very clever, right up there with Pentiums. And the music video is hilarious, it's among his best... but it's harder to pick there. He always does a phenomenal job with his music videos.
Oh, and anyone notice Seth Green on the "all my action figures are cherry" line? I'm pretty sure that's him in the background.
jeffx @ Sep 21st 2006 10:58PM
who doesn't pronounce their Z "zed" ?? Seriously...
I haven't seen Weird Al since the 'stache and long wavy hair days!!! I hated him back then... but this new song is A-OK!
ytcracker is still the best though...
n8dogg @ Sep 21st 2006 11:05PM
Seth Green!
LuigiHann @ Sep 21st 2006 11:14PM
Yes, that is Seth Green. They likely recorded that shot in association with the music video that Robot Chicken is doing for the album.
Also, how do people always spell my name wrong?
Enosh @ Sep 21st 2006 11:24PM
zOMGROFLOL!
I don't know what song that's a parody of (because I'm too white and nerdy) but that's just awesome :). Weird Al rawks! hahaha!
Bender @ Sep 21st 2006 11:30PM
That dude that's dancing in the background is a crack up! This video's great!
X-Rayden @ Sep 22nd 2006 12:23AM
dont forget his myspace :
http://www.myspace.com/weirdal
PhilJ @ Sep 22nd 2006 12:38AM
I've been a Weird Al fan since his first official album. (Of course, I listen to "regular" music too) My folks got me a visit to his trailer a few years back after a concert in MN, and me and three friends hung out with him in his trailer for about 20 minutes. Honestly, one of my favorite events in the past ever.
CLASS ACT. He's just a nice guy (physically large skull), chatted and took pictures, talented to boot. He's about as nice as you'd think, it's why I buy his albums sight unseen as soon as they come out. People like him deserve the dollars.
contrlkaos @ Sep 22nd 2006 5:41AM
Badgers? Badgers?!? We don't need no stinkin' badgers!
jason @ Sep 22nd 2006 9:18AM
I have that javascript book.
MJ @ Sep 22nd 2006 11:00AM
I like how he used that awful Chamillionaire track.. Good going
