Happy Final Fantasy music day
Why do we play games? To escape, of course -- to free ourselves from our earthly shackles and enjoy a world of pure fantasy, if just for a moment. To that end, please enjoy this quick escape through the music of the Final Fantasy series on guitar, piano and, er, recorder.Check out our previous Friday music features.

Clip 1 - Is that or is that not Ted "Theodore" Logan of the Wylde Stallions?
Clip 2 - Most out of tune piano EVER.
Clip 3 - Spiffy rendition of the song, would have been better off as an MP3 with no video.

Seriously. And isn't Aeris' theme a bit, I dunno... overdone?

That piano is pretty bad - I'm not sure if it is out of tune of just a poor microphone. My assumption is someone who is able to play that well would not keep a piano in such a condition. I'm going with the piss-poor microphone argument.

Yep, piano is crazy out of tune. Clip 3- Why is the camera on the guitar dude? The recorder part is significantly more complicated.

I love the five stringed guitar and "Blair Witch" ending of the third one :)
This whole thing makes me want to put on the advantage and rock out while I plough through spreadsheets here at work
sigh

Thank you thank you for happy music friday!
My hat is off to all three clips and their performers. I especially enjoyed clip #3. I played it three times in a row. I have a great urge to drink a pint, dance a jig and enjoy the company of my mates.
Bravo!

nice recorder/whistle/whatever they used on the Chocobo theme, how delightful. the first one was nice too. and the second one...just get that piano repaired before you burst anyone's eardrums.

I already mentioned this in the last music day post, but back when I was in high school I used to play the Kefka theme on my trumpet all the time. at one point I figured out how to play it on a piano, despite not knowing how to actually play a piano. sadly, I don't have any videos of it. back in those days we got our internet via dialup and I doubt my old 50mhz computer with a 400 meg hard drive could process videos anyway. I guess I could try and make a video now, but considering it's been 7 years since I last touched my trumpet, I doubt it'd go well.
Rootbeer @ Sep 22nd 2006 2:46PM
The first one is either faked or just badly out of sync. I'm leaning towards the former.
The second one: yeah, that piano desperately needs a tuning.
The third one would be better if we saw whomever was playing the melody on the recorder instead. Barre chords are boring to watch.
