McDonald's to host game tournaments in Dallas/Ft. Worth
McDonald's -- in what must have been pitched in a meeting full of McSynergy -- is sponsoring a series of "midnight" gaming tournaments in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. McDonald's has recently tried to attract gamers through DS Wi-Fi, Happy-Meal giveaways, and an ad campaign that looked a little too familiar to some. Of all of these things, we give McDonalds the most credit for hosting these game nights, speaking to gamers directly through controllers.Players can register online now to play each Saturday night in Tekken 5, Guitar Hero, and NCAA Football '07. The weekly tournament begins tomorrow and runs through mid-November, with single-elimination play between 9:00PM and 4:00AM. Weekly winners will net McPrizes totaling a few hundred dollars, including Best Buy and McDonald's gift certificates. They will also compete in the November 18 championship, where three players will win a thousand-dollar Best Buy gift certificate, Xbox 360, and more.
Dallas and Ft. Worth gamers, represent Joystiq, and tell us how it goes. Just consider bringing gloves and/or bleach; those guitar controllers are going to be pretty McGreasy by the end.

Send me a shirt, I will represent Joystiq appropriately and WIN!!!
I live in Dallas
I will win this pity McDonald organized events with super awesome college football playing skills combined with a deadly range of button mashing combination maneuvers via the controller in TEKKEN 5. Also, do I dare unleash my secret awesome guitar hero skills? If I receive a t-shirt, then yes I will.

Dear Zack, Ross, Paul Ludwig, Vlad, Christopher, etc.
Please send me a Joystiq t-shirt and I will compete in this competition with a hardcore gaming clan for a guaranteed spot in the top 3. Reportedly, the top 3 will be interviewed for the Dallas Morning News and a NBC/ABC/FOX news broadcast. I can reference Joystiq, in exchange for the T-Shirt.

Representing Joystiq gamers in Dallas since October 21st.
I will be going to each one, but will only be representing Joystiq when I go to the competition after receiving a shirt.
As you can see, I'm pretty adamant about this shirt.

I am also willing to send the Championship Xbox 360, signed Guitar Hero controller, copy of GH2, and PSP.
Since I already own 2 Xbox 360s, a PSP, and a signed Guitar Hero controller.
I acquired the last when I won a tour of the Harmonix building, and a signed copy of GH2, ironically, through a gaming tournament, where I won a game of Halo.

Too late to sign up now. You had to sign before midnight on Friday(I saw Jackass...). Being that one of the sponsors is k104, I was probably going to get shot right after I won.
Zack Stern @ Sep 23rd 2006 2:08AM
Flyguy: it sounds like they're taking new players each week. Let us know how it goes.
Demi Adejuyigbe @ Sep 23rd 2006 2:39AM

You sound pretty confident Demi. Too bad you're not going to win anything.
