Your comments: Lets see, I could hook my psp up to my already existing speaker/AV
switch setup, play the music from any one of my computers, or use my ipod...

I think even the most simplest setup of homes have a TV with one AV input that the PSP audio can be hooked up to. Now make a good portable boombox type of thing, and make it look like the good ones from the 80's, and we'll have a winner.

This is just another in a long line of fairly popular IPOD-esque products. In fact, I'd be surprised if this exact model wasn't already available for the iPOD.

It's expensive, but big high end speakers for portable media devices sometimes are. You can get the basic iBOOM type box, or something more extreme like this. I think products like this make the PSP look less like a toy and serve to establish its multimedia side as more capable or upscale. See, whereas gaming and accessories benefit from lower pricing, sometimes it's a good thing for audio or video equipment to be expensive/high-end (read: not the same as overpriced junk).

Since the PSP has that media side to it, these kinds of accessories can't hurt that part of its image.

A man (or woman) walking down the street with a PSP boom-box on his shoulder blasting the music loud... Anyone feel like the 80s fashion is coming back?

One word for you. "No."

That's probably one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. I can see if you want to dock your PSP and perhaps it's already connected into your entertainment system to play games or something, but this is pretty useless. Not to mention most people have way better speakers.

They're trying to pull an iPod dock device, but they totally missed the point.

I wouldn't spend $250 on a PSP let alone $376 for a boom box. Holy shit, where is the demand for this? On the bright side maybe this is some crazy government experiment to decide who's too stupid to live. Paying $250 for a PSP is dumb enough, but you bought the $400 speakers? You die!

I wouldn't spend $250 on a PSP (even when it really costs $200) but I will spend all my time on pspfanboy.com because the PSP is so worthless I have nothing better to do in my spare time than talk trash on it. I guess I could be making some extra cash at my job as a Burger King cashier instead, and maybe someday afford something beyond a used NES, but if I made that kind of cash my parents would kick me out of the basement.

Douchenozzle, I was thinking the exact same thing as I read the comments. This is a bit off topic but DSFanboy and WiiFanboy are pretty boring reads, IMHO of course... but then I don't work fastfood or live in my parents basement or ever defend obsolete game systems on the internet in my free time. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I suppose.

Oh yeah and the speaker/dock for PSP? Personally, I think I'd rather spend my money on something else.

Of all the ipod accessories to "port" to the PSP, they had to pick the lamest one?

That's pretty lame that you guys zapped Douchenozzle's second post and Douchenozzle's mom post. Obviously this family has a lot of problems to work out and I'd like to think that Joystiq would be supportive of that. Just so I don't get erased the boom box sucks. Why is PSP fanboy so afraid of people ripping on the PSP? Is it because deep down you guys know it sucks too? Play what you want but erasing those comments just makes you look afraid.

Hey guys, feel free to bash the PSP. I know it ain't a perfect system. In fact, we encourage you to debate in our comments. But there are certain things that will get edited or deleted in the comments:

1. Impersonating others. Uncool.
2. Making offensive comments about someone's race, gender or sexuality. Also uncool.

Go ahead, make fun of the PSP's high cost, fragile system design and beautiful graphics. Have fun doing it too. Just, be SOMEWHAT courteous to others while doing it.

"I don't mind blowing it on a half-assed, piece of shit, might-as-well-be-a-paperweight portable console."

Aw, come on. It's cute: http://micro.gameboy.com/

"Maybe then I can afford the watered-down $200 PSP and get up the courage to tell my parents that I'm gay all in the same day."

Ladies and gentlemen, the ignorant hater-fanboy: Fear & Loathing of an inanimate object to the point of hysterical off-topic trolling. And hey, let's take the opportunity to bash gays, too - because being sexual orientation is something to be ridiculed along with non Nintendo game products.

If someone is going to come to a site called "pspfanboy" and say the PSP sucks, they should probably mention a few reasons why they think that. Otherwise, for all we know, they've never even touched a PSP.

I'm gay and own a PSP and I really want to thank Joystiq for doing the right thing. It really makes me mad when people say things like, "That's so gay". Why is being gay equated to being stupid or lame? I can game way better than most of my straight friends so mocking someone's sexual orientation as a reference to gaming prowess is just ridiculous. On the other hand it's equally pathetic to ridicule someone's opinion because of where they work or live, such as a fast food joint or basement apartment, respectively. I personally won't be purchasing the iboom or whatever its called but if somebody does then that's their prerogative. Thanks again joystiq!

If I'm waiting for the PSP's price to drop to $150 (I never have, and never will buy a portable system for over that much) or under, then there's no way I'm going to buy one of these.

Not to mention that I'll only use my PSP for games.

Dudes your comments suck! This thing is BITCHING!!! I've heard it over in Britain and it sounds way better than an iPod HiFi or BOSE and it's cheaper, Listen UP! PSP / MUSIC / WiFi / Broadband / Memory Sticks - played through the PSP HiFi - it's as good as it gets!!Unfortunately it's only available in Europe so we'll have to wait until a distributor is brave enough to import them here, let's hope they ignore the moronic comments of all the 'bashers' and see that Gamexpert are one of the few companies making quality products to enhance the PSP and promote it as a MultiMedia device not just a game for children - IN YOUR FACE FANBOYS!!
