thank god the darkness trailer was posted. I thought it was due last night, and I went crazy looking for it.

and... is that clive owen? MOTHER%@#^ING CLIVE OWEN!?!?

*ahem* I'm very much looking forward to the Darkness. I completely trust starbreeze to turn this piece of $hit comic into a worthwhile cinimatic gaming experience. I love it when game developers elevate these BS francises into hardcore, intense games (*cough*Star Wars Republic Commando*cough*).

I also appreciate how they're not using the idiotic necro-suit.

all and all though, I'm kinda annoyed how the "bringing it home" campaign had almost nothing to do with the TGS. I mean, it's nice to have a bevy of new downloadable content... but why did they bother? I know the bringing it home campaign focused more on japan, but still... raw end of the stick here.

then again... I'm not sure I'd care if we got everything available on xbox live japan. the japanese have lousy taste in games.

I'm kinda iffy on sonic. Team Sonic has been completely nut-ball since SA2. For all of it's flaws, I very much enjoyed the first SA, mostly because of it's fully realized sense of speed, and excellent stage design.

I honestly don't care of the story is kookie (princesses?), but if they step up the level design, and polish up the rough edges that plagued the series, this might be damn cool.

then again, if I know sega, they've underfunded the project, and we are just gonna be looking at another piece of crap.

I think this is the first 3d Sonic title that Yuji Naka hasn't been involved with in the endgame phase. I know that the common knowledge is that SEGA was pushing things on Naka that he wasn't in support of, and that he won't say boo now because he's the ultimate company man, but I do kind of wonder if they're better off having cut all ties with all of the creators of Sonic, and just doing a freaking Sonic game based on the fundamentals of the property.

Shun strikes me as a guy who can be trusted to handle the game (mainly because of Samba de Amigo), but Silver gives me pause. Unfortunately, he's been involved in some relatively high profile bust-ish games too (Kunoichi, Billy Hatcher).

I guess ultimately it comes down to whether or not SEGA as a company can be trusted anymore. For me, the answer ever since the DC was shitcanned has been a definite maybe. They keep tossing out these awful games, but then every once in a while something emerges that I think is phenomenal (Condemned, Otogi...)

It's really hard to watch, frankly.

Lego Star Wars II was a blast. Didn't play the whole thing but if you like Star Wars (or the first game) it's a giggle. It's worth it just to run around as Lego Chewie pulling little Lego Stormtrooper arms out of their sockets.

Lego Star Wars II is an odd little title. While I initially hesitated to open the game after purchase due to it being an impulse buy and appearing to not have any lasting value, upon completion of Episode IV, I am thoroughly pleased with it. It's got a great sense of humor, the action is good, and the flying segments are a lot of fun. Nice, intuitive controls, although turning can be a bit of a bitch every now and then.

Can't wait until I fight Vader in Episode V.
:)

I've been playing Lego Star Wars II with my son since I rented it last week. We've had so much fun (and it has been a great incentive for him to practice his letters and numbers) that I'm going to trade in my NCAA Football game in for a copy.

BTW, here are some X06 rumors:

I personally love the Lego Star Wars games. And this is coming from a 29 year old gamer. I don't have time in the evenings after work to sit for hours on end anymore trying to beat games due to a high difficulty level. I mainly end up only half finishing games before moving onto a new one a few weeks later.

But with the Lego games, they're a blast to play, have high replay value (due to all the stuff you can accomplish in each level), and above all it doesn't severely punish you for dying. You lose a few 'studs' and you're back in the action where you left off. These are games that I can sit down and play one level a night knowing that I'll be able to finish that level and come out enjoying the experience instead of being frustrated that I don't have the time to invest in mastering some complex skill set needed to finish a game.

Maybe this is just me becoming old and grumpy though. I just hope they continue these brands of Lego games with different franchises (Lego Halo would be awesome!)

Abe: hee... as an individual with a life, a f/t job, and so on, I often times wonder how people out there can rack up 10,000 gamer scores, invest thousands of hours in Wow, and earn rank 50 in Halo. I just don't get it! I mean, as far as games go (especially the hard ones), I make time for them... but like you, I rarely beat a game.

Anyway, I still enjoy hard games though... easy games just aren't particularly entertaining
