Wow, a new 360 game with a wireless guitar. I'm excited, but it's not unreasonable to think this will be close to $100.

Kris D, the Explorer body design is Gibson's. They actually sued ESP over their version and as a result ESP no longer sell their "EXP" guitars. (They now sell the "EX", a variation of the standard Explorer shape)

Hopefully they will have two versions, a wired and a wireless, but, I remember reading or hearing somewhere that M$ doesn't allow third party controller makers to make wireless controllers, so, unless M$ is going to make a guitar, my guess is that we will only see a wired guitar.

I would would LIKE to see is somebody make a little device so you can cut the cord on the guitar, connect the device to the cord, and turn the guitar into a wireless device. Clip that device onto the guitar (so it doesn't dangle) and wa-la! Wireless guitar. Or you could internally mod it, I guess.

Best news of the day. Although, I have a feeling this is going to be wired. You can see what looks like a controller wire poking out the bottom in this shot of Major Nelson (looking very jet lagged) holding the guitar.

I am so looking forward to this. I came close to buying a PS2 just for GuitarHero--I'm glad I didn't.

Even if the controller is wired, since it is a 360 game it should cost at least $80, since it was $70 for the PS2 original.

if there is a rule regarding third parties being forbidden to make wireless controllers, i hope ms relaxes that rule for guitar hero because 1) the controller is not a third party redesign of the x360 controller 2) the guitar controller is essnetial to the game and 3) guitar hero freaking rocks.

CRAP. NOW I NEED A 360.

First of all, I never liked SG's. They're just too light and (as far as today's music goes) only really suited for tiny Emo guitarists who can't hold up a real guitar for an hour-long show with all that idiotic jumping around they do. I own an Epiphone Explorer, and it sounds great. Point is, I want that controller. Not only that, but I need the 360 for downloadable content. My original SG controller just broke yesterday (overuse ^_^;), so I was waiting for GH2 for a new one (I don't have the money to spend on just a controller), but now it won't even be worth it since I'll miss out on so much stuff on the 360 version...crap. I don't have $480 to spend on a 360 and GH2...guess I need to sell all the rest of my stuff.

Has anyone else seen the wireless flying V guitars for the PS2? That would have been a cooler design, but the explorer is still better than the S-fucking-G. They need to get a Les Paul model.
