South Park: make love, not Warcraft [update 1]
South Park will commence the second half of its tenth season by lampooning the world's biggest MMO, World of Warcraft. In episode 1008, entitled Make Love, Not Warcraft, "the boys dedicate their lives to defeating a mad gamer and saving the World of Warcraft."A video clip of the episode showed up Saturday on YouTube, showing the boys' respective avatars. South Park Studios then released a video via their website showing the Blizzard associates discussing the fate of their ever-popular title.
"Yes, it won't be long before everyone gets frustrated and stops playing. This very well could lead to the end of the world ... of Warcraft."
This is not the first time World of Warcraft has been the focus of parody (see: World of ColberCraft), nor is it the first time South Park has featured gaming as the focus of their episode. In the Emmy-winning episode Best Friends Forever, Kenny's skills at the PSP cause Heaven to enlist him as troop leader in a battle against Hell's forces. The episode, rumored to have been made within the span of three days, is a satire regarding the Terry Schiavo controversy. Schiavo reportedly died hours after the episode aired.
Make Love, Not Warcraft will premiere this week. Video clips posted after the break.
[Update 1: Blizzard / Comedy Central has used this opportunity to announce the episode via a press release. While they're at it, why not mention World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion, Burning Crusade? Promotional letter after the break.]

i really like south park but i must say the Terry Schiavo controversy/ gold psp episode has got to be the worst one i have ever seen. i mean they use bbf as their hook? made in 3 days? more like 3 hours.
worst eposide ever.
but even with that rare stinker south park is the best show for satire. no other animated show even comes close.
Travo @ Oct 2nd 2006 2:04PM

They've reference video games more than just the PSP episode...
The toothfairy episode they were trying to get a SEGA DREAMCAST!
Towelie episode was estentially a video game type plot as they tried to get there Ocana Gamesphere back...
And in 'Dog Whisperer' Cartman can being seen playing a XBox 360
probably more than that they are kids after all...anyway, I'm a fan of the show...and this IS the 2nd part of the 10th season. Why they keep advertising it like this is the start I don't know.

The "Best Friends Forever" episode has one of the best lines when Kenny's sould is returned to Earth and the Angel Uriel asks about the Japanese boy that got to Level 59 in the Heaven and Hell game - "Are you stupid, Uriel? Japanese people don't have souls!"
Monki @ Oct 2nd 2006 2:37PM
"For your bravery, we give you this Keanu Reeves statue" *golf clap*

southpark is the best platform for political commentary in years. people who dont care about political bullcrap (like myself) can and will watch southpark expose our county and its leaders as the morons they are.

It didn't first appear on YouTube. It was on the official South Park site, and then some guy posted it on the inferior quality site that is YouTube.

The 360 was featured in the Nanny episode where the Dog Wispererrrer trains cartman to behave and respect his mom.

The best one is the Lord of the Rings skit. It was really really good. Butters becomes Gollum the moment he comes across porn.
lgndk11r @ Oct 2nd 2006 11:59PM
And here I thought this would be the Okama GameSphere port of World of Warcraft. For shame!
Yardarm51 @ Oct 3rd 2006 2:43AM
How about the Chinpokomon episode from season 3 ripping on the Pokemon phenom. All the Japanese in that episode was absolutely spot on. I couldn't believe it. Just so you know chinchin is the way Japanese children refer to their wee-wee. Hence Chinpokomon refers to "little penis characters".
