Billy McClure has got some trouble
World of Warcraft devotee Ezra Ferguson poured himself into his tight tight pants and belted out a passable rendition of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" for this music video that surpasses run-of-the-mill machinima.
The cool part? Terran Gregory (who wrote, directed and edited the video) was recently hired by Blizzard to produce game play videos, evidently based on the strength of his video portfolio. The first video he produced for Blizzard was this this Eastern Plaguelands PVP Video.
Two comments on this situation:
- Blizzard hires from their fanbase. How awesome is that?
- Kid's got skills!

Ah, yes. This video is old by the way. It was entered into a movie contest on XFire last year around this time.
Anyways, yes, Terran has been hired by Blizzard and so has Tristan Pope (another machinima maker). The both teamed up to do the machinima for the WoW episode of South Park :)

I know I am seriously out of the loop on this Warcraft BS... but can someone PLEASE explain to me what these vids are for? And how do they make people do MJ moves. I dont get it. Is it strictly someone hacking around?

that was great

They mail night elf "/dance" makes him dance like michael jackson. Thats how they coded it to begin with.
I have no idea how they capture the videos though. Everything after that is pretty cut and dried non-linear editing.

On another note: yes, this vid is from Xfire last year. It won 1st place in category "music video". All the other categories were won by another video "Illegal Danish" which was the spinoff of "Zinwrath" from the previous year.
Illegal Danish is hysterical, btw. Look it up on Youtube (I can't right now, at work, youtube blocked).

@ejflex
The Michael Jackson dance moves are the racial dance for the male Night Elves. Each race/gender combination has its own "/dance", including the Macarana for the human females, and the impending Napolean Dynamite dance for the Blood Elf males, coming in the Burning Crusade expansion later this year.
In order to make a video like this, you would start with a copy of World of Warcraft (with valid account, of course), the screen capturing application called Fraps (or a similar app), and a ton of time, energy and creativity. No hacking is involved.

Tight pants? Damnit, who leaked the behind-the-scenes?

That him?
Random: E's my real name. It's a rare name, I've met ONE guy (in person) with it.
On topic: Real men wear tight pants. Except, unlike pink shirts, no one's found a way to communicate it.
Pet peeve: I find irony in "secure" guys who wear pink shirts... with the added note for safety because of insecurity.
On topic: The Napolean dance is acceptable because of it's cultural impact. Doesn't mean I'm happy about it.
More ranting: Kung Pow was the first movie I saw with the idea "Let's make a movie that's not one or two scenes of deliberate stupidity - but the WHOLE movie!" where it's like Jackass but without the dedication.
On topic: I
