Downloaded it, I like the customization area, and I like the drifting course, but the downhill duel and the Track race is terrible!

I got to play this demo this morning, and it has the exact same problem that's been plaguing the franchise since underground: it has a lot of cool features, but the straight up racing its self sucks.

Honestly guys, I’d recommend you’d stick with test drive, because it’s everything NFS should have been after High Stakes.

The racing is sub-par. Even the graphics don't really seem to have any wow-factor to them. Plus collisions with other cars always bothered me in this series.

Give me Burnout any day over NFS.

While we are on the EA rant... Madden blows compared to ESPN 2K5. ESPN 2K5 NFL had mucho more online features, Online leagues. When in doubt buy up something. NFL license, Battlefield Franchise from Dice, Burnout from Climax.

EA servers blow too by the way. Why should a game with only 2 players (Madden 07) lag out so much, when a game like GRAW or Halo2 can have much less lag with as many as 16 players?

This steaming pile should have been called Need For Speed: Tokyo Drift

Out of curiosity, is there anyone out there who makes a point never to purchase an EA game?

Ya know... because they suck, and shouldn't be encouraged?

Why haven't I seen a single mention of Test Drive Unlimited on this site yet? Yeah, it had a crappy demo, and I had to be convinced by a friend just to buy it, but since I've started playing it I can't play anything else. I've already racked up over 30 hours of playing time on that game alone, which is probably 3x what I spent on EA's last NFS title. If Carbon is anything like Most Wanted, then I'll probably just stick with TDU.

I'm still d/l this demo but I don't expect much. Most Wanted wasn't very nice at all on the 360 (or anywhere?) and while I had a little fun with NFS underground 2 they have got to stop milking a similar formula.

They say it's different but it's still a far cry from the NFS glory days of NFS3, High Stakes and especially Porsche Unleashed.

clipper: there was several mention of TDU on this site, a couple comments on the demo, and it's eventual release.

and I believe I'm about 40 hours in :)

I was completely underwhelmed by this demo. At the very least I was expecting my right eyebrow to raise slightly at the sight of some brand new hi-def visuals but nothing. The brake-light trails when you nitro - please! This looks like something off the PS2.

I thought it was quite laggy as well during the race, I guess this is down the game being written for multiple platforms and all of 5 minutes being spent optimizing it for the 360.

Poor show EA, sort youselves out.

Wow -- and I actually enjoyed NFS: Underground. This is a steaming pile. Racing worse than Underground, and the lamest video game drifting this side of Ridge Racer. It hurt me to play it.
