I feel a little ignorant on what my DS can do in terms of 3D gameplay. I recently picked up Lego Star Wars II for my DS Lite and have been *very* frustrated at the clipping and sometimes overall disappearance of objects/characters from the screen.

Now, I realise that we're talking a different franchise and software developer, but is what I'm experiencing in Lego SWII the stick to measure other 3D game titles to be? I know it's a bit of a naive question (yes, Super Mario DS looked great!). I'd rather get Tactical Assault for my DS than my PSP because I like the idea of using the LCARS interface on the lower screen, but if the graphical representation of Tactical Assault is better handled on the PSP version I just might (gasp) not get it for my DS...

And no, I'm not trying to initiate a flame war here between the portable camps..!

I agree completely!!

Although I've been pretty impressed by both the DS and PSP.

I haven't seen how the controls are being handled, but I cannot imagine playing any sort of RTS with a D-pad on a portable system.

LotR:BfME2 on 360 was done well, but there's something about the mouse that just gives you total control. I think the stylus is going to come the closest to that.

I know I'm talking about this game like it's an RTS, in reality I'm not even sure that it is. I just know that it's a strategy game, and that really leaves a ton of different options for gameplay.

I don't have a PSP, so the choice is easy for me. Having played some other 3D shooters on my DS (Starfox) it CAN be done well, without clipping.

Will the graphics be better on the PSP? Almost certainly. Will the gameplay? Well, it's not as likely. Isn't that the most important part?
