Ha ha ha! This is nearly the exact same graph at last time!
If the last graph was super-hilarious, and the graphs before were also super-funny, that must mean this is super, super, hilarious funny.
Awesome! Joystiq equals super funny plus super original plus the best website ever!
Miniboss @ Oct 4th 2006 12:49PM
I think C should be "Okami".
reguy @ Oct 4th 2006 12:54PM
ok see, now you're doing this on purpose. you want people to say bad things.
whatever joystiq.
headn00b @ Oct 4th 2006 12:51PM
These aren't funny.
zero2dash @ Oct 4th 2006 10:16PM
I guess there's some writers block going on at Joystiq if you guys keep chugging out this stupid 'three circle doodle' "stories" every day.
It's not funny anymore; it's lame.
Scott @ Oct 4th 2006 12:54PM
For the love of all that is holy, please stop ruining Joystiq with these stupid graphs.
Pedro Van Faulk @ Oct 4th 2006 1:04PM
These are just retarded. Joystiq, come on! I don't get crap like this from Kotaku. Hell, I don't get crap like this from PS3 fanboy.
Just stop. It is stupid and juvenile and a waste of time.it isn't funny, it isn't witty, it isn't observant. All you are doing is saying things we all were bored with the first time we said them.
pandlcg @ Oct 4th 2006 12:55PM
I think these posts are funny but i'm not getting their point.
Nushio @ Oct 4th 2006 12:55PM
I actually liked this graph.
aZn_1080p @ Oct 4th 2006 12:57PM
I actually think this one is kind of funny, the first of these graphs that has been that way.
playclever @ Oct 4th 2006 12:58PM
What makes the "Indexed" blog great is the insight encapsulated in the charts. You read it and go, "That's an interesting way of looking at things". These are just dumb statements of well-known facts. :(
adam @ Oct 4th 2006 12:58PM
Dear Joystiq,
6 out of 7 comments are about the over use of these graphs. We are trying to tell you something.
Thanks!
adam f @ Oct 4th 2006 11:38PM
these charts are getting old.
Zorak @ Oct 4th 2006 1:00PM
Which one of these subsets is for the 'rational gamer?'
Russell @ Oct 4th 2006 1:04PM
Jesus Christ, what's wrong with you people (not you, Joystiq, but your "fans")?! This website has the whiniest fanbase that I've ever come across. This is Joystiq's website, not yours, so they can make whatever sort of graph or post that they want to make. When you kids get your own website, then you can write pretty much whatever you want to in it. That's the way that the internet works. If you don't like the way this site is run there's only about another billion websites that you can visit. And it's not like these graphs are personally offending you or harming you in any way. If you see a graph, just skip over it and go to the next post. But please, before you take any sort of action in any way, remove the giant stick that you all seem to have shoved up your asses.
jarod @ Oct 4th 2006 1:03PM
get rid of these retarded fucking graphs already. we know u read these comments.
Chris @ Oct 4th 2006 1:04PM
Some like them some dont, I seem to like them a lot because they all make complete sense and are true in every way possible.
V. Watermelon @ Oct 4th 2006 1:05PM
But I like Assasins Creed...and I prefere Nintendo...But I don't like Banjo-Kazooie.*
This chart isn't accurate.
*Let's not make a thing of this shall we? I just prefere Metroid and such.
Pedro Van Faulk @ Oct 4th 2006 1:06PM
oh, and that graph is wrong. Sony fanboys don't like motion sensing. They were all about it being a gimmick. The nly reason they 'like' it now is that sony has informed them that their opinions have changed.
Captain Obvious @ Oct 4th 2006 1:08PM
Guys, these aren't graphs. They're Venn diagrams. And shouldn't "A" be white consoles and "B" be Bigfoot, Santa Claus, unicorns or something else that doesn't exist?
Pierce @ Oct 4th 2006 1:13PM
I laughed
J.Goodwin @ Oct 4th 2006 1:20PM
They aren't graphs, they're Venn Diagrams.
And they are VERY funny.
BIGGEN @ Oct 4th 2006 1:14PM
Dear Joystiq,
We here at the comments section of your website, have no sense humor and can find nothing interesting about these graph posts. Additionally, we are all ignorant assholes who actually think that if one console has something the other doesn't, makes that console and therefore the purchasers of that console better than the purchasers of the consoles we are mocking. In short, we are seriously in need of a life and if we have seen all of these graph posts and comment in every single one of them, then we should be shot.
Thank you for your time and we'll let you know how much the next graph is not funny. Sincerely,
The Same Assholes that Flood Every Post
PS. seriously people, do you need to comment how much you hate this graph EVERYTIME one is posted?
Ozyman666 @ Oct 4th 2006 1:16PM
Loosen up your sphincters, folks. This ain't the New York Times.
Jonathan @ Oct 4th 2006 1:16PM
I like the venn-diagrams.
I love how people are complaining about "wasting time" on a video game blog - as if we are holding guns to their heads forcing them to read each and every post.
Here's my advice, you whiny losers:
Get off your RSS readers and go do something more productive! You don't have to read each and every post from joystiq. If you don't like the content of a post, DON'T READ IT. Or go start your own video game blog so that you can read it in a fit of journalistic masturbation.
DG @ Oct 4th 2006 1:20PM
I like the people that think they're above the fray because they chasten those who complain about graphs.
Here you go, guys: You're even worse. You complain about people that complain. Which is more pathetic?
BIGGEN @ Oct 4th 2006 1:22PM
@26 um, you are actually. you're complaining about the complainers that complain about the complainers.
Jonathan @ Oct 4th 2006 1:24PM
This shit is meta...
Dave Chandler @ Oct 4th 2006 1:26PM
The problem is if you go to sites like Engadget or Gizmodo you don't get this nonsense. You get info on the latest products or goings-on and that's it. Sure they throw in a little editorial flair, but you sure don't get nonsense like this, and certainly not as regularly as Joystiq has been pumping it out. Seriously guys, this is getting sad.
DG @ Oct 4th 2006 1:27PM
27: Duh. That was implied.
BklynKid @ Oct 4th 2006 1:33PM
Dear Joystiq,
Don't listen to the haters (in this and other posts). Keep doing what you do and don't change a thing. I love Joystiq exactly how it is and I will keep reading.
Thank you,
BIGGEN @ Oct 4th 2006 1:37PM
@30 LOL you were implying yourself on being pathetic? at least you're a good sport.
S.A. @ Oct 4th 2006 6:08PM
Damn you guys need to chill. If you dont like the graphs skip over them, you dont have to read every freakin post, and if you do, you need to get a life. These are just a litte humor, it takes a second to look at and it causes you to smile a little. Its not a big deal.
Nick Spacek @ Oct 4th 2006 1:48PM
Do what Slashdot did one April Fool's (I think) and for a whole day post only graphs (they posted dupes since everyone over there gets so ticked about those).
Nick
KR @ Oct 4th 2006 1:50PM
Hooray! Joystiq is turning into a less-funny, less-entertaining version of Kotaku!
Looks like Summa was the winner here, he was booted right when this nonsense was starting up.
Derbeste @ Oct 4th 2006 1:58PM
I have to go with the "lovers" on this one.
It's a GAMES site for heavens sake. You're complaining that a site dedicated to helping you waist your time is waisting your time.................../boggle.
I LOLed at it. I like these Venn diagrams. I think they are Proof that Robert Summa was wrong and Joystiq does NOT take itself too seriously......however, many of its commenters seem to take it WAY to seriously.
Anyway....my replacement answers:
A)Rare and good wireless controllers
B)Big, expensive HDTVs, spending a lot of money that they clearly have to spare
C)Japanese gamers, Handhelds, Gimmicky/non-traditional controllers
D)Claiming Joystiq is biased against their console, having fun, playing games, Claiming there way to have fun is superior because every is obviously the same.
Turken @ Oct 4th 2006 2:10PM
Yep. I'm enjoying all the graphs/diagrams. And I especially enjoy all the ****tards in the comments section who argue about how the charts are "incorrect" or how much they hate them.
I say Bravo Joystiq! If you can keep the charts going long enough to get all the clueless idiots to give up and leave, then maybe everyone left can actually have some intelligent discussion in the comment areas.
P.S. For all the haters out there... yes, ALL of the charts so far HAVE been correct.
Martin A. @ Oct 4th 2006 2:02PM
I actually liked this one. Option D made me laugh. The other ones sucked hard though. +A for Kyle.
Ive Been Jipped @ Oct 4th 2006 2:07PM
Sigh.
How long is this series going to run for?
Armin @ Oct 4th 2006 2:11PM
Look at me, I went to business school and now I can draw graphs and circles.
It would be great if you could block an author or two on Joystiq, and only display the more serious posts.
Hexx @ Oct 4th 2006 2:24PM
shouldn't "D" be games?
Luke @ Oct 4th 2006 5:11PM
I don't think Joystiq or Indexed understand exactly how Venn diagrams work. Even if we assume the letters represent points in the section, I think only point D makes sense. If the sections were labeled "Things X fans can play with," A,B,and C would make sense, but D wouldn't. Even on Indexed I've only seen a couple graphs that made sense completely.
This isn't smart/geek/nerd/math humor, at least not to me.
Robotic House Plant @ Oct 4th 2006 2:28PM
Seriously. Horse. Beaten. Dead.
AnotherFanBoy? @ Oct 4th 2006 2:34PM
"shouldn't 'D' be games?"
God no. Its obvious in this console "war" that sites that used to be very informative with interesting articles now move toward dogging on the latest Sony news or Nintendo announcement.
It's no longer about the games, that makes me sick to think the world of GAMING is more interested in verbally tearing one another apart based off some stupid articals.
Someone teach me something. Do sites like Engadget and Joystiq get paid more per comment? Because stiring their readers to yell back and forth at eachother has become more of their job then news on...well news.
Justinq @ Oct 4th 2006 2:34PM
9 out of 10 joystiq posters believe that Vlad and Kyle O are homos! The one that doesn't is a homo himself!
Korexz @ Oct 4th 2006 2:41PM
OK, seriously, how do I get a job as a joystiq writer... you guys are pathetic.
D - Something all fanboys have in common, ripping on joystiq authors!
rockintom99 @ Oct 4th 2006 2:48PM
Guys, read this, and I think you will understand the point of all this: http://xkcd.com/c166.html
Nmaster @ Oct 4th 2006 3:23PM
Agree with #1. Should be expanded to "Okami and Zelda"...
Pince @ Oct 4th 2006 4:56PM
A and B should just span the whole thing, seriously.
iEnigma @ Oct 4th 2006 3:49PM
These Venn Diagrams still aren't funny after all of these days. If you guys [Joystiq] need some more content, I'd be glad to provide you with some. I'll bring some Something Awful-inspired humor to the site.
At least, it'll be funnier then these damn diagrams.
