"Note to the confused: Winning Eleven is also known as Pro Evolution Soccer in many parts of the world, including Europe. In retrospect, shouldn't it be called Pro Evolution Football over there? Hmm."

Perhaps the renaming is a way to get around the Xbox 360 exclusivity of Pro Evolution 2007.

Despite MS's claim, Konami has said it only affects Pro Evo soccer and it's only for this year.

No, I think it was always called Winning Eleven here in the states. That just means they were being tricky when they said that.
