Street Fighters mop and drive taxis, in the later years

CollegeHumor is hosting a short film, with surprisingly high production values, detailing the whereabouts of two of Street Fighter II's eight World Warriors: Zangief and Dhalsim. We wonder if their sorry state is proportional to their lasting popularity in the game; like ancient gods who thrive on belief, do these has-been street fighters have a need for success? We can't imagine pretty boys like Ken or Ryu mopping floors or driving a cab ... maybe E. Honda.
Part one (of what appears to be an ongoing series) is embedded after the break. We'll keep our eyes peeled for future installments.

I just watched this last night and I really hope they keep the series going. They set up for some potentially hilarious situations with the two main characters. Seeing Zangief chastised by his geeky boss in the arcade had my cracking up.

Yeah I saw this over on Kotaku. Pretty funny stuff. I can't wait for the next installment.

NSFW!!!!!!
guys, while i am out of work, its probably still before 5 on the west coast, you probably should mention the link is NSFW. jeez. If the porn ads on the side were not bad enough, there is a row of topless girls right below the movie clip.

Yo Christopher Grant, I had the same problem with the vid on my site - just add a BG color to the video embed to make it appear black at the start, like this:

LOL, what a truly awesome video of Street Fighter II characters ten years later. This game happens to be one of my favorites of all time and from one of my two favorite franchises ever, (the other being Mario). I’ve got to give a lot of credit to the folks that made Street Fighter: The Later Years and I’m really looking forward to seeing this piece continue!

Hah! That was actually some high quality stuff! Usually you'd think videogame spoofs done by these types of websites would suck, but this is obviously done by fans for fans.
I can't wait for the next installment!

Hmm...do I smell an "American Gods" reference in this post?
flyNN @ Oct 6th 2006 2:04PM
too f'in funny. Maybe if the SFII-The Movie hadn't taken itself so seriously it could've had moments like this.
Hey, Uwe Bowl didn't direct SFII did he? It's just such a bad movie...
Well, even Paul Gale from 1up.com has 0 stars... guess I don't feel quite as bad anymore for my 0 stars :)
Paul Gale @ Oct 6th 2006 2:28PM
*flyNN, yeah, don't sweat having 0 stars, because you can still be a good poster and well rounded with your videogame knowledge/writing skills but not necessarily have something next to your name that suggests it. I'm not entirely sure though, how you do get stars next to your name, but as long as you can contribute positively to the community, that's all that really matters.

THAT... WAS... AWESOME!!
John @ Oct 8th 2006 12:54PM
There's no way Zangief could afford a place in Williamsburg with a job like that. Totally unrealistic story.
Steve @ Oct 8th 2006 9:35PM
utterly brilliant. it should totally be the next SF movie. Maybe this is an underground campaign for the next SF movie. If it is, I'm totally in!!!
The casting was just awesome!!!

Man, this group is continuing to do a fantastic job with their Street Fighter II videos. Parts 1, 2, and 3 have all been really funny and done with a high level of quality. I hope everyone gets a chance to see them.
