Updated roundup of essential Oblivion mods

PixelRage has assembled a collection of 13 Oblivion mods that they feel Bethesda Softworks should have included as in-game features to begin with. Some of them may seem trivial, but they add to the game's realism and overall usability. In addition to map, inventory, and environmental enhancements, your inebriated hero will now have blurry vision after boozing it up at the local tavern. And if you need a moment of silence from Jeremy Soule's brilliant score, there's a mod for inserting pauses in the soundtrack. My favorite on the list is the extended death camera, which suppresses the load screen and gives you the pleasure (or pain) of watching your character get beaten to a bloody pulp.
What are your favorite Oblivion mods?

It's a shame we can't get some of these mods on the Xbox 360 version.

The mod I want is a hotkey bar like in World of Warcraft. With multiple pages. What was the stupid reasoning behind limiting the amount of hotkeys available to 8???

That is an excelent idea for a mod.
To bad I don't know how to mod

The author of the linked article has piss poor spelling and grammar. It reads like an AIM chatlog rather than an article. That doesn't invalidate his arguments, but it sure as hell makes me ignore them.

How about a mod that freezes time, so I have enough hours in the week to play Oblivion? :)

Bah, I should have bought the PC version instead of the 360 one!
Oh well, live and learn.

I LIKE THE BOOBIES MOD!!!!
Just joking around, the mod I like best, and haven't checked in on it since it was in alpha, but back on topic... is the Multiplayer mod. Great stuff there

I'd like a mod that lets the game continue to make good save files after I've invested 20-30 hours into it. That's probably something they should have included in the initial release, too.

Yes but is there a mod to make the asshole on the horse disappear?

Does anyone know if there are any mods that add spell effects? I don't mean the mods that add spells based on the same old fireball and iceball effects. I want NEW spells. How about trap spells?
Oil slick - Cast it on the ground and people will slip and fall.
Wall of Fire/Ice/Lightning - Instead of a missile, make a wall.
Smoke screen - Make a quick escape through a screen of smoke.
Possess - Take control of any creature/person in the game. See how the radiant AI reacts.
I'd love to try and make some of these.

I just want my teleport spell back.

@Sagan
The reasoning was the xbox 360 controller.

We have been looking into using game engines for importing architectual models at University College London... one output is the ability to rapidly build a mod.
Oblivion has so far been the most impressive engine to work with, we have a number of examples and movies on our blog, if anyones interested to see the output so far:

The Oblivion work is still on the front page, the Half Life examples are all under the Game Engines link.
