Sometimes. Even though I always plan on going through them again, I'm pretty terrible at replaying RPGs. Some games I just can't get enough of, though. I've been through the Metroid series and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night 7-8 times. They're a lot shorter, sure, but I think it's just because I like them so much.

i really dont replay games as much nemore. i just hate that feeling of "man if only i had this power again i could do such an such", which is basically the point of replaying in the first place.

i used 2 replay my games over and over back in the day. games that were real easy, arcade type that were meant 2 b replayed over and over again. like i cant even count how many times i beat Crash Bandicoot or Pokemon and such but i could not push myself 2 play a great game like God of War again. i dont know, after i beat it, i just lost interest in it and bout sumtin else.

i will say that on occasion i like to try to completely complete a game. i always get to like 97% or sumtin and then i get frustated and stop playin.

I believe that videogames are similar to movies. I bought some movies and some of them I have seen only once. Other s I regulary see again because every time that I catch some new details that I never saw before.

Only if they don't force me to watch the damn tutorials and cut scenes when I start a new game.

"Press the X button to jump!"

Some games make it different the second time around, like giving you less ammo, more enemies, less time, etc., or they unlock a more difficult mode. I like that. It's so easy to do, why don't all game developers do that?

I prefer to replay old arcade games. More MAME-type, like NBA Hangtime(doing it actually), Marvel vs Capcom, WWF Wrestlefest and other "not so old but vintage" arcade legends. They make me have good memories of the old "insert coin(s)" days. Good times, good times.

I sometimes play games again to get 100% completed. Tomb Raider Legend was a case of that, I think I played each level at least three times. And I played Half Life 2 Episode 1 a second time through because I wanted to listen to the commentary track. But I voted no because I don't replay 'completed' games, but I replay games to complete them.

Most of the time I do replay completed games. It's only when the game is so thrilling, and that there are so many different ending to a game, I never get tired.

Why isn't there System Shock (the original one) on anyone's list? The only game I replayed more than once beside Lucas Arts adventures.

Fighting games lend themselves to being "Beaten" multiple times, each character can go through the entire ranking, and replying to improves scores in the like.

It is about the amount of fun and interesting thats held throughout the title that helps it be repeated time and time again. Which is why the 16 bit era had most of those titles, simple, fun, addictive.. I still don't think 3D has really proven itself as greater than 2d.

Wait, why exclude games that can't be beaten, such as tetris? They don't figure into this anyways. This is about beaten games.

You sure that's not because most 2d games can be beaten in about an hour?

I'll play a game, sell it, then re-buy it years later, but just to feel the atmosphere. The original Jak and Daxter I did this with. I rarely complete games, and I don't like repeating things, I don't like bosses that take more than 2-3 tries to kill. There's no satisfaction in that. What's satisfying is when the story progresses and the atmosphere is great. I also did this with Sly Cooper, and I still play Jumping Flash II and Parappa the Rapper for PS1. The only game I consistently still play repeatedly is GT4, which I will never sell, and which is only 48% complete.

Yea, why not? Don't you read a classic second time? Some games can be played times after times like Diablo 2 or Starcraft. (I am a Blizzard Entertainment fan) It also depends on graphics and scenario.

If it is beat it is beat, why send the time to beat it again when you could be beating other stuff.

I guess the answer for me is sometimes, but really I wish there were choices of 'often' and 'rarely,' because I'm definitely in the 'rarely' camp.
Actually, I'm not sure, though. Because most of the games that I replay are really more of the arcade variety, so 'completion' is never really a factor. Of all the RPGs I've played, I think I've only really replayed two of them.
On the other hand, i still love to sit down with Street Fighter: Third Strike, or Marvel vs. Capcom 2 once in a while (and of course, whenever I can find an opponent.)
