PlayStation 3 street cred tatz
You really love a console once it has been inked under your skin permanently. PlayStation lover Christopher C. Webb tattooed his arm with the circle square triangle x button images, upping his throwdown skillz on the street and providing fodder for incessant questions from future grandchildren.
"Gramps, what are those marks on your arm?"
"Well RidgeRacer, those are buttons *wheeze* from a console I used to game on. My beloved PlayStation."
"You mean, you had to push BUTTONS?! Holy cow, grandpa! You didn't control games with your brainwaves? Were you around when they invented the railroad, too?"
"Why I oughtta ..."
And ... scene. Wonder if anyone has tried entering any cheat codes on him yet. Anyone else out there have any gamer tattoos?

It is amazing these people can exist considering Darwins theory.
Congradulations! You Win!! Come pick up your new PS3 in 20 weeks.
Confusatron @ Oct 6th 2006 12:36PM
I guess I can understand getting images from your favorite games tattooed on you, but icons of your favorite corporation? Wow, that really is sad.
mkm1998 @ Oct 6th 2006 12:37PM
Yea, Peter Moore has tattoos like crazy. GTA IV, HALO 2? Didn't mean to crash the Sony bashing parade, but pretty sure Microsoft starting this. Of course if you want to go with the angle that Sony copied yet another thing from its competitors, go right ahead. ;)
Tommy P @ Oct 6th 2006 12:39PM
Classic quote from Back To The Future:
"You mean you have to use your hands?"
"That's like a babys toy!"
footlong! @ Oct 6th 2006 12:40PM
Sure it's die-hard, but there's not too much effort involved. It's not very creative either. Plenty of kids out there are struggling enough as it is to gether loose change to afford a ps3, and this guy has enough cash to blow on pricey tatoo. whatever though, thats why im not one of the judges
Paul P. @ Oct 6th 2006 12:39PM
I will never understand what would possess anyone to get a tattoo. Those things are permanent! If you're going to get one, why something as temporary or trendy as a gaming console?
Triz @ Oct 6th 2006 12:39PM
@mkm1988
Do you really think those were real tats?
clo1_2000 @ Oct 6th 2006 12:40PM
To Sony, he is still consumer #10,941,598.
strider_mt2k @ Oct 6th 2006 12:41PM
Can I send in my 3M tat? Or the Morton Thiokol one?
Dude, look at my foot. That's right! Morton Salt! Yeah man!
When it rains, it pours.
JimmyHACK @ Oct 6th 2006 12:42PM
a guy already loaded with tats getting another one is no big deal...
i would let him to go the party not cause the tat, but because he thought about one that looked better than just drawing shapes on him. the whole block button background means he planned out one that looks good compared to scribble
mykie @ Oct 6th 2006 12:45PM
Alternate ending:
"You mean, you had to push BUTTONS?! Holy cow, grandpa! I'll bet they didn't even have force-feedback! No wonder Sony filed for bankruptcy 30 years ago and liquidated all of thier assets at the hands of Microsoft and Nintendo in the game industry!"
sauce @ Oct 6th 2006 12:52PM
That was just sad to think that some one likes sony that much.

... mark of the beast.
Anyone who tats an advertisement (a triforce, buttons, sonic, mario, etc.) is a willing tool for corporate enterprise. Now this guy can proudly show the world that he's Sony's slave and he's got the brand to prove it.
"I have been marked once, my dear, and let me assure you, no needle shall ever touch my skin again."
Thomas L @ Oct 6th 2006 12:57PM
lol what a faggot
Sam @ Oct 6th 2006 12:59PM
i used to work with a guy who had the playstation buttons tatted on his hand. He had a triforce on his arm. The worst one, and possibly the dumbest thing i've seen, is that he had Lara Croft on his forearm. To this day he has never seen a girl naked...
Mark @ Oct 6th 2006 1:02PM
well, it's not exactly gamer tattoo, but a computer tattoo.
I have binary on my left arm: http://www.ear-fung.us/tattoo/
just don't hassle me about the last line not being binary... it's not supposed to be. See http://www.danasaidyes.com for an explanation.
G @ Oct 6th 2006 1:13PM
That's the lamest tattoo I've ever seen.
Moley moley mole....
Vlad @ Oct 6th 2006 1:15PM
love the HARDCORE music. RAAAWWWWWWWK. =P
I guess if you want to do that...it's your body. I think the least he could have done though is to have the 4 buttons in the diamond configuration they're in on the controller instead of a straight line.
Almack64 @ Oct 6th 2006 1:17PM
@15 Sam
You must mean never saw a girl naked in person...
BTSavage @ Oct 6th 2006 1:18PM
My buddy has his entire shin (right leg) dedicated to Halo. It's pretty sweet!
But tatooing for a free PS3? Way to go whore!
Bodie @ Oct 6th 2006 1:17PM
I've thought about getting a tattoo of the old Contra cheat code, just because it would remind me of "old school" gaming. I think that's what tattoos are about for many people. They're a permanent record of a memory that is kept with you forever. I have one other tattoo that I got about 10 years ago when I joined the Air Force and I don't regret it one bit.
Maybe this guy just loves the Playstation and wants to remember the feelings it has given him over the years forever.
BMWM3P @ Oct 6th 2006 1:21PM
That will teach Peter Moore a thing or two about commitment.
As a fellow ink junkie it came out pretty good, it would have looked better on the chest with the original button configuration. I wouldn't get it myself but to each his own.
My friend owns a tatto shop I have seen some really dumb tatz from macaroni boxes to dumb fox logos at least he got something cool. Good thing he's not a 360 fan, a tatto of the power brick would have taken his whole back.
Zach @ Oct 6th 2006 1:20PM
I have to admit, I think the triforce tattoo is a cool idea, and if I were to get a tattoo about a video game, that would probably be the only one I would ever get.
Bbnight3 @ Oct 6th 2006 1:23PM
I'm not usually one to say stuff like this, but...
what a douche.
Player1 @ Oct 6th 2006 3:31PM
I think it would have looked better with just the symbols in black. Anyway, is that American McGee?
Enzo @ Oct 6th 2006 1:26PM
I have a Sonic tattoo, and he will soon be joined by toejam & earl, chuck d. head, and some other stuff
Aaron Tyler @ Oct 6th 2006 1:28PM
It would have had more impact if the tatoo was "Disc Read Error"
whang @ Oct 6th 2006 1:35PM
I have the most awesomestest tattoo on my forearm as well:

You can never hurt me!!
MosquitoControl @ Oct 6th 2006 1:36PM
It fits right in with his sweet tribal tats, bro!
I bet he's the belle of the ball when he goes to see Korn and Slipknot!!!1!
Matt @ Oct 6th 2006 1:40PM
It's not all that much different than say, someone getting a tattoo of a band icon or logo (can anyone say Einsturzende Neubauten, or Black Flag, or Rocket from the Crypt, or Fall Out Boy, etc.). Not that it isn't any less weak.
I'd still be surprised if one day he didn't think to himself, "well that was rather stupid and impulsive of me wasn't it? Oh well, I guess it's not much worse than my other tats."
I'm afraid all of my tattoos are free of trademarks or corporate symbology.
killploki @ Oct 6th 2006 1:39PM
azn_1080p is that you??
trent @ Oct 6th 2006 1:39PM
welp i posted on the other thread that was linked in the article, but i guess ill post here too...
current tat:

ideas for new ones:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b195/rdr4gon/tat-final.jpg
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b195/rdr4gon/fire_3_by_kwant.jpg
ideally i wanna do a whole arm of 8bit characters but there are 2 probs: 1) money and 2) getting the art to flow well, not just a bunch of sprites.
LordMinogue @ Oct 6th 2006 1:42PM
How much would a tatoo like that cost?
If the playtation is 600 and that tatoo was 200, and laser removal will be another 200, that really wasnt the right approach.
Adam @ Oct 6th 2006 1:48PM
That guy had tons of stupid tattoos. So it's not such a big deal.
If he didn't have any tattoos at all and then did it. then I would be impressed.
Lets just hope sony always keeps those buttons.
Crazy T @ Oct 6th 2006 1:49PM
All you haters are just jealous cuz you don't have the balls or cash to get that kind of ink! You couldnt handle the life size version never mind the whole back of your arm!
Bet he wins!
1!
xdrewfacex @ Oct 6th 2006 1:53PM
i was going to get my first tattoo today, but the girl hurt her shoulder so isn't tattooing today :(
anyways, i think the playstation tattoo is lame, but some of the tattoos posted above are cool. i really like the super star from mario on that guy's forearm.
Jojo @ Oct 6th 2006 2:15PM
#33 - Exactly. The moron has his entire arm covered already. 4 more black circles on an already horrible looking arm. And won't those just fade into solid black circles?
Sniper @ Oct 6th 2006 2:20PM
This trying to enter that contest? I hope he doesn't win.
gamerx @ Oct 6th 2006 2:26PM
boy is he gonna be one disapointed Sony fanboy if he doesnt get selected!
Thomas @ Oct 19th 2006 11:04AM
I have to admit, it was a nice Tattoo. He definitely deserves to go to any PS3 event sony has. Give him a free ps3... Sony.

Chessasaur @ Oct 6th 2006 2:39PM
Those black circles reminded more of the body hookups for the human batteries in The Matrix. :P
I agree with the guy who said that they should have been in the diamond shape like the controller. Having them down his arm looked dumb.
Aux @ Oct 6th 2006 2:49PM
He should have been real hardcore and got that branded on his arm...
pandafresh @ Oct 6th 2006 3:21PM
well this guy does look like an asshole, what his crappy tattoos and shitty music, but why do i know if he was getting the Nintendo logo on his arm, half the people here would be "omg thats so cool!" Please, stop hating the Sony just because its the Sony. PS1 and PS2 def. had some of the best and most innovative games these past 2 gens, dont forget that.
Spinfusor @ Oct 6th 2006 3:13PM
Why he shouldn't be selected to attend the PlayStation 3 premiere party:
His piss poor editing skills.
SomeShoq @ Oct 6th 2006 3:14PM
It would of been more impressive if he didn't already have a bunch of tatoos.
It's just like hey look I got another one.
Dave @ Oct 6th 2006 3:17PM
I got this back in summer '02.
http://home.comcast.net/~dwlthree/halonerd.JPG
I added the in-game pic next to it since most people didn't even recognize what game it was from.
Don't judge me, and for the love of god don't associate me with all the 14 year old douchebags that play Halo 2 on Xbox Live.
reow @ Oct 6th 2006 3:44PM
The ps3 launch party is open to the public, no tatoos required. You just have to camp out a day or two if you wanna get in... I guess its cool to show you're a fan though
mikull @ Oct 6th 2006 4:31PM
WOW- THAT WAS WEIRD. i read this via RSS all the time- and that is the shop & dude who did all my tattoos! freaked me out to see that at first.
PS- none of my tattoo's are of playstation logos. that's just kinda silly.
Wulkar @ Oct 6th 2006 7:06PM
but the playstation sucks and sony steals everything
