Game concept: Limbo
Eliot from Hackaday tipped us off to the existence of this nifty concept trailer for game-in-development Limbo. The teaser trailer scores high marks for its beautiful art direction and suggestive physics, but then again, so did the trailer for Killzone 2.
Still, the game's lead designer (Arnt Jensen) has crunched his way around the game block a few times, so we shouldn't be so quick to assume that this won't eventually become a real game, graphs be damned.
In fact, we'll assume that this project will get done, and we'll encourage you to join the effort, if you can code C++. Good luck!

Reminds me of Ico in the whole kid-in-distress thing.

Wow, this game looks like it could be interesting. Its always nice to see an idea (which may not be completely original) that is done in a way that makes it stand out against other titles in it genere. Based on concept alone, i'd be willing to spend $5-$10 on it as an XBLA title or a Wii download. Maybe even more if it is developed and I like what I see.

I just thought of another concept... Limbo.
This would be a game for the Wii where you dot he limbo in virtual environments by balancing the controller on your chest or something? I don't know, it needs work.

Also reminds me of Another World, with the whole 2D platformer and the whole "beautiful-graphics-at-the-same-time" shinanigans going on. From the looks of it so far, it's in flash?

Looks great, now they "just" need to make an actual game out of it. Certainly would like to see it come alive as game, but please not as xbox live exclusive.

Shadow of the Colossus and Ico combined, with some amazing Nightmare Before Christmas style. Yes please.

Out Of This World + German Expressionism = teh Win

Stunning art. Could this and LA Noir usher in a number of black and white games? I hope so. Just as B&W photography holds a certain cachet the use of artistic visuals really can lend to the feel of a game. Just look at what was accomplished with cell-shading in Jet Grind Radio or the sumi-e (ink painting) styling of Okami. Let's hope the gameplay keeps up with the visuals.

Black and White? Don't forget Sadness!

I've been getting updates on the status of Limbo and I think there will be quite some good news regarding the development of the game coming within the next few months. Exciting!

Wow... Simply wow... This game reminds me of GISH. Hopefully someone is actually making this and it comes out for PC.
