Microsoft's Japan-only Blue Dragon bundle [update 1]

If you're wondering why us round-eyes ain't gonna see a price break on the Xbox 360 this holiday, Japan might have something to do with it.

See, Microsoft has put together this sweet, Japan-only Blue Dragon bundle that probably ain't gonna do much to enhance the company's bottom line (read: it's likely subsidized), but will (they hope) juice the 360's pitiable sales in that country.

For just ¥29,800 (approximately $252 at the time of this writing), Japanese gamers will walk off with a basic Xbox 360, the Blue Dragon game itself, a limited-edition faceplate (aren't they all?), and five Blue Dragon figurines, according to the fine folks over at Siliconera.

these comments are funny. A bunch of pickup-truck driving hick Americans (who probably had dreams of killin' Aye-Rabs) pretending like they're offended by stereotype comments. You probably make more racist jokes to your friends. Go paste a confederate flag decal on your truck while whining to your friends about how gays are going to hell, americans!

Get a life. Round eye was self-depricating. Your skin is much too thin. PC-ness is the root of all evils.

I don't think any of you know what racism is. There are differences amonst ALL races, and to deny that is to live blind. He didn't state that non-round eyed people are less intelligent or less cultured or lesser people in any way to rounded eyed people. He stated nothing racist in anyway. What if Africa had been getting the Blue Dragon set and he said "Us white people will have to wait" Is that a racist comment? Hell no. He may have generalized Japan as wide-eyed and the rest of the world as non-roundeyed but that isn't racist in any shape.

Seriously this is one of the most idiotic statements I've ever heard! Are you actually trying to say that Vlad was implying there are no asian people in the USofA? You cannot actually be that stupid. If you were that dumb, you would lack the capacity to express your musings with such verbosity.

So I have to assume you're fairly intelligent and have just somehow been misguided in your good intentions. You are allowed to have a sense of humor about race. If you open your mind a bit, racists can be some of the funniest motherfuckers on the planet. Obviously Vlad is not in this category. He is making an innocent joke, taking a stab at HIS OWN RACE! The only people who would be offended by this are: A)super-sensitive white people that fear any discussion [or acknowledgement] of race; B) super-sensitive asians (or asian-americans, I guess) who mistake this comment as a jab at THEIR race; or C) people who just want to argue.

Let's all stop pretending like this is some kind of big deal. Let's start acting like adults and get back to talking about the videogame with the magic dragon.
