Guitar Hero II setlist speculation is over
Over the past several weeks, crafty netizens have managed to piece together an almost comprehensive account of Guitar Hero II's setlist, taking most of the wind out of IGN's big exclusive. Yesterday, IGN had the names of all forty songs delivered unto them on a silver platter -- or maybe it was a fax ... probably an email. The missing tracks: Living End's "Carry Me Home" and Suicidal Tendencies' "Institutionalized."Phew. It's over. Now we know all forty songs; all the names, artists, versions, everything. Except the fifteen unlockable bonus tracks that Red Octane claims are being kept under wraps until the game's November 7th release. Alright crafty internet sleuths, you know what you need to do.
The rest of you can peep the entire confirmed list after the break.

I barely recognize any of these songs, but I guess I would have said the same thing about the GH1 list before I played it.
I'm still really excited about GH2. I've played the hell out of the demo.
KrazyIan @ Oct 10th 2006 1:41PM
Just seeing Megadeth and Lamb of God on there makes my heart a flutter.

"um? I believe you mean the Twenty-Four unlockable bonus tracks. :P"
I thought they've said there would be 55 songs total on this one?? 40 normal songs + 15 bonus songs = 55 songs. Unless I've misread some where

EB Games has a wireless guitar set to release for ps2 from Red Octane on Nov. 7th I hope this is real, cant wait to rock out wireless !!!!
BTW- OPM's newest issue has a 4 song demo, Shout At The Devil, You Really Got Me, Strutter, YYZ.
kevin @ Oct 10th 2006 2:52PM
i saw a wireless controller at circuitcity friday so they may already be out
could of picked a better rage song, like know your enemy or ashes in fall (that would of been an awesome one)
ejflex @ Oct 10th 2006 2:58PM
Guitar hero = automatic 1 star. ENOUGH with Guitar hero for gods sake.
Wreckhart @ Oct 10th 2006 3:07PM
they have a knock-off wireless that caused a law-suit and counter suit. This one is made by Red Octane
32_Footsteps @ Oct 10th 2006 3:12PM
No way, Matthew Sweet? He flirted with my wife once! Throughout an entire concert! Oh, the memories.
I'm a little surprised by the Aerosmith song they picked... I was hoping a bit more for Dream On, myself.
Also, is it wrong that I was hoping more for Lust For Life from Iggy?
Finally, my fingers bleed in anticipation for Misirlou.
The Rev @ Oct 10th 2006 3:33PM
hell yeah beast and the harlot is on the game
nintendo fan @ Oct 10th 2006 3:35PM
Now that The Stooges AND Suicidal Tendencies are on it I would get down on my knees and beg for a Wii version, and if something were to slip out of my wallet at the time would it be a crime if someone from RedOctane just happened to pick it up?
Daniel @ Oct 10th 2006 3:46PM
It would be awesome if, just once, they would get the Rage Against the Machine song right. It's 'Killing in the Name' NOT 'Killing in the Name Of.' Yes, I know it's picky but goddamit, it's annoying as hell to read if you're a hardcore RATM fan!!
That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Matthew Sweet on there. Rush, Alice in Chains, STP, Sabbath - this is truly a sweet setlist. Something for everyone. Red Octane is gonna make at LEAST a million dollars of this game.
Wreckhart @ Oct 10th 2006 4:00PM
@ 25
Im a hardcore RATM fan and it doesnt bother me at all. Killing in the name of, killing in the name of, killing in the name of. Im still ok, not annoyed.
Now if i had said Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice it would be a different story.
arghmatey @ Oct 10th 2006 4:16PM
"i'm not crazzzzzy....your the one thats crazzzy."
goodluck getting that one down.
Vlad @ Oct 10th 2006 11:27PM
it's such an awesome list, soooooooo good, but I can't help but be disappointed with the lack of Tool after MTV said there was going to be a Tool song on there.
Can't wait to hear the bonus tracks, there were some really good ones in GH1.
PRAE @ Oct 10th 2006 5:19PM
OH SNAP / THAT DUDE IN THE PIC IS MY HOMEBOY / Rob from PRATT here in BROOKLYN . . . .
I don't know how y'all got that pic / but good choice / MYRTLE AVE to the death .
Mark Matthews @ Oct 10th 2006 8:19PM
Based on the game's My Space page, I'm hoping Riddle of Steel is one of the unlockables. They're from St. Louis and one of my favorite indies.
Red_Paladin @ Oct 11th 2006 3:50AM
YES!!! Thin Lizzy has a song on here, too (and it isn't The Boys Are Back In Town... great!! They've got so many more great songs than just that one!!)
Perhaps we'll see Jailbreak or Emerald(!!!) on Guitar Hero III??
...and Hangar 18 is gonna own (8 sweet solos by Marty Friedman and 3 killer ones by the man... Dave Mustaine)
jesus_bon_jovi @ Oct 11th 2006 6:12AM
Hmm so are they gonna have the full version of Free Bird with the crazy long 3 guitar solo at the end? it is the last one on that list afterall..
tacoman @ Oct 11th 2006 7:04AM
I hope one of the bonus tracks is Europe's Final Countdown. The guitar solo towards the end is total face-melting material. Glad to see Misirlou made the list too, it's hard as hell in Guitar Freaks.
Speaking of Marty Friedman; he lives in Tokyo, speaks fluent Japanese and has his own weekly late-night rock show called Rock Fujiyama, which is completely awesome. His show Heavy Metal Thunder last year was also great. I suggest checking out some of the episodes.
J S @ Oct 12th 2006 10:20AM
