Over the past several weeks, crafty netizens have managed to piece together an almost comprehensive account of Guitar Hero II's setlist, taking most of the wind out of IGN's big exclusive. Yesterday, IGN had the names of all forty songs delivered unto them on a silver platter -- or maybe it was a fax ... probably an email. The missing tracks: Living End's "Carry Me Home" and Suicidal Tendencies' "Institutionalized."Phew. It's over. Now we know all forty songs; all the names, artists, versions, everything. Except the fifteen unlockable bonus tracks that Red Octane claims are being kept under wraps until the game's November 7th release. Alright crafty internet sleuths, you know what you need to do.
The rest of you can peep the entire confirmed list after the break.

Hell yes. Buy confirmed.
Now we just need "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow..." as a downloadable track.
Because, you know. If you're not now, you never were.

I'm a little surprised by the Aerosmith song they picked... I was hoping a bit more for Dream On, myself.
Also, is it wrong that I was hoping more for Lust For Life from Iggy?
Finally, my fingers bleed in anticipation for Misirlou.

That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Matthew Sweet on there. Rush, Alice in Chains, STP, Sabbath - this is truly a sweet setlist. Something for everyone. Red Octane is gonna make at LEAST a million dollars of this game.

Im a hardcore RATM fan and it doesnt bother me at all. Killing in the name of, killing in the name of, killing in the name of. Im still ok, not annoyed.
Now if i had said Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice it would be a different story.

Perhaps we'll see Jailbreak or Emerald(!!!) on Guitar Hero III??

Speaking of Marty Friedman; he lives in Tokyo, speaks fluent Japanese and has his own weekly late-night rock show called Rock Fujiyama, which is completely awesome. His show Heavy Metal Thunder last year was also great. I suggest checking out some of the episodes.
