Naked girls that you'll never see playing games
Everyone has a calendar featuring naked folks in it these days. Sports teams, firemen, older ladies gardening in the UK -- everyone is stripping off in order to raise money for one cause or another. The tried and true method of having someone pictured in the buff above February's grid squares has been selling calendars and lining mechanic's shops for years, and now it comes with a fresh scoop of video games.Totally Nerdcore has launched a calendar to try and please gamers and simultaneously line their own pockets. It contains full-on nudity, and the site doesn't come close to being SFW, so surf at your own peril. Yes, you can now own a photo of a naked woman wearing nothing but a Nintendo Power Glove, complete with a convenient, built-in hanging loop. It will really tie your game room together.
These girls are clearly models, and just gaming poseurs -- a slap in the face to real girl gamers like PMS Clan and the Frag Dolls. If someone puts together a calendar with those girls in it, for charity or not, it'll pwn all other video game calendars, except perhaps the hot action of Games Shipping This Week.
In other news, don't look for the Joystiq: All Nude calendar anytime soon.

zero2dash I think you misunderstood what he was saying. Not that hot girls don't play video games(even though I haven't met one), it's that groups like the PMS Clan try to not base their gaming on their looks, whether it's hot or ugly.
But personally I don't feel like the PMS Clan or Frag Dolls are any better than these models. At least the models are willing to admit that they are famous because of their sex. Even if these groups claim it's not about their looks but about their game, they are still only a group because they are women. If women want to be treated equally as gamers why can't they join clans with guys in them. I don't know of any groups with "only guy" gamers. It's reverse sexism!
On another note, I would've considered getting the calender for my dorm for $15. But for $30? If I wanted to pay that kinda money to see a naked lady I'd get a lap dance.

OK so here is my take on it.
You are pre-ordering in order to help them with their up front printing costs. So will you really get the calendar if they can't get the money to start the print?
There are only 3 photos, 2 of them being the same photo. They are not giving even thumbnails of what is inside (unless I missed something).
They always put the hottest girl on the front of the calendar, so it makes you wonder what is inside.
The "photographer" is a model who was Miss Hot Import Nights like 2001 or something and has done some nude work herself all over the Net. Of course she provided her link on the calendar purchase site, a link that has annoying pop-up's and claims she is starving and to buy her whatever's.
As a female myself who has been in the modeling field, I say don't waste your time on this calendar.
Just my .02.

Yeah, #2, I think you didn't read the article clearly...hot girls can and do play games (as the clans previously mentioned), but it's suspect if these models do.
I'll be honest, I'm interested, but not for $30 (maybe $10-15). I have better things I can spend my money on...

Looking at the Power Glove pic... is she trying to masturbate with her non-Power Gloved hand? You know, I've made jokes about people doing that while wearing a Power Glove... and the reality of it unnerves me. And you just know next year's calendar is going to involve the Wiimote in some way...
Naked bits aside, I have to give them credit for highlighting the holidays I and other geeks care about. If only more calendars thought to do this.

I agree with 14 (Andrea) about the calendar's cover and what's inside. I got a similar calendar (Without the gaming accessories and it was a lot more clothes on the girls) from a friend who baught a magazine just for the calendar which he got pretty dissapointed at.
Anyway... it looks like a pretty crappy job to me - where the models ain't in the mood for smiling...

Come on, guys! I bet some of these girls actually ARE gamers. If my mom plays games, whose to say a hot, naked girl can't?
Besides, I bet half of you -- even being dudes -- have found yourself playing games naked when no one was around. You don't have to admit it here, but you know it's true.
And 25 bucks for the calendar seems fine to me. It's 12 x 18 incHes! That's a lot bigger then this lame calendars at bookstores that are staple bound.
I wonder who's behind this project. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

interesting, and i cant help but agree.
anyways, t3h chicks are TOTALLY hott, but i agree. they should put away their sexy modeling bad girl faces and just look like they are enjoying video games and smile a little...while being naked. or maybe a little bit of BOTH. ya...thats sounds GREAT.

I completely agree. I've played with both of them and well frankly they suck at every game! They are only a "clan" and "popular" because they have vaginas and are DECENT looking.
