I really hope this really adds someting to the fps genre it seems to me that a lot of time, effort, and soul is being put into this game and I think that its going to raise the bar for fps games.

Looks like it will be a good game...but much like PREY...I think the hype will far exceed the gameplay.

Halo Killer...hmm...Halo 2 is the #1 Xbox Live game across both the Xbox and 360 platforms still today.

If anyone even remembers Resistance a year from now...then we'll talk about Halo killers.

One thing that's interesting about Resistance...it's supposedley the most hyped and expected game of the PS3 launch. Yet IGN compiled a "Lust List" of their most popularly searched titles of the week. Resistance is no where on the list...not to mention any PS3 game for that matter.

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/737/737971p1.html

Here are the top ten games across all platforms for the week of 10/1/2006 - 10/8/2006:

Halo Wars (X360)
Assassin's Creed (X360)
Gears of War (X360)
BioShock (X360)
Alan Wake (X360)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)
Mass Effect (X360)
Fable 2 (X360)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (X360)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)

"So two new systems are launching in just over a month, but all you guys are excited about is the year old Xbox 360? It's pretty telling that not only are there no PS3 games on the list, but the 360 version of Assassin's Creed (until just recently a PS3 exclusive) is the one everybody's talking about. As for Alan Wake, we were just as surprised at the title's X06 showing as you were: that game is officially looking badass."

Keyword of your rant: "Most searched titles of the WEEK" So it didn't appear this week, doesn't mean people don't care about it. There has already been so much about the game told through gaming sites and magazines, just because people aren't constantly searching it, doesn't mean it isn't desirable.

Also 4 of those games are coming to the PS3 as well. People who own 360's are probably searching more 360 titles to find something to buy, people don't own the PS3 yet, everyone already knows the launch titles, so there is no reason to constantly look up PS3 titles.

Anyway on topic, I am intrigued by the storyline. They refuse to say the Chimera are "Aliens" which leads me to beleive maybe they are some sort of man-made secret army.

The game looks good but the whole split screen thing with it horizontal on 4:3 and vertical on 14:9 is more like an industry standard now (of which the first game i remember having it was Halo 2 but i might be wrong) so I wouldn't really say that it was separating the game from the pack, almost like saying you can see the characters hands....

#4 you hit the nail on the head.

This game looks like it is going to be something to talk about for a long time. Though till the PS3 isn't out yet, I see this being one of the best games. I am a fan of WW2 but I'm sick of these plain "LETS GET THOSE NAZIS!", or "TAKE OUT THAT JAP BUNKER!".

It's good to see a different spin on the event. The story line looks solid, and as far a "Halo Killer", we won't know untill after the launch.

I think that the this while "THE 360 IS THE MOST SEARCHED WHEN IT COMES TO GAMESSS GAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH. *waves arms like wacky inflatable army guy*"

Well like he said...we know whats comming...what waste our time to look at something we know is gonna be here. As far as this comment pertaining to the PS3, we dont' know everything about it...

LOL thats funny. "im a fan of WWII but i wish there were more space aliens in the 1945" classic

Also i dont know why stumpie posted that bit of news here, other than to start a flame war, but it definatly shows that more of ign visitors are intersted in the wii and 360 games.
p.s. all of the games listed for the 360 in stumpies post, minus assassins creed and the marval game, are 360 exclusives. Halo wars, gears of war, bioshock, mass effect, fable 2, and alan wake will never see a ps3.

It's not just the most searched...if you follow the link you will see that the length of time someone stays on a page and such is also a factor.

Why this is a big deal...because IGN is probably the largest gaming website on the net. And if this data is representative of many gamers interest...it would mean that the PS3 doesn't have any titles that are stirring much interest.

It's all about the games isn't it??? Or at least it was last gen? I guess this gen now that 360 has all the games of interest it's all about the hardware hugh?

@stumpie
Stop being such a fakeboy, you posted the same exact thing over at joystiq even though it had nothing to do with the topic. Get a life. And BTW, Gamespot is the biggest gaming website, not IGN, and their list of most popular (i.e. searched for, previews/reviews read, pictures looked at etc.) games doesn't have one Xbox360 game. Just take a look on the Gamespot homepage. Now please, leave us.

@IslandLife "Just take a look at Gamespot homepage"

Yeah, because Gamespot is not biased. Oh wait, yes they are. Moron.
