Shouldn't he have said, "Sorry you didn't have the opportunity to buy a PS3 this year, nor will you get one next year, either. By the way, the PS4 will be $1,200 USD. You might want to start saving now."

"I'm sure it beats lining up in a queue for hours on end only to be told the store has sold out"

Hmm.. a few hours of queuing with a possibility of disappointment, or.. a few THOUSAND hours of extra waiting, and STILL a possibility of disappointment on the day.

Regardless of when they release the PS3 in Europe and Australia, you can be sure there will be queues, sellouts, and disappointments, on launch day. That's just par for the course.

I guess that's better than just farting into the microphone, which is what I expected next out of Sony PR.

You know, I bet if Sony's top brass acted a bit more like this and a bit less like Ken Kutaragi, alot fewer people would be ragging on Sony. (To be fair, Nintendo and MS act jerky just as often, a bit more of at least this level of humility would also serve both of them well.)

But then, we wouldn't have nearly the number of giant enemy crab jokes in the world. I suppose some sacrifices must be made.

It's amusing to me that he had to 'respond' to his own comments because they were that retarded.

Did someone attack the weak point for massive damage? Why would he have to respond to his own comments?

That made me laugh out loud.

sony needs to put this guy in charge of their PR. He actually knows how to admit when he said something that made no sense.

For those of you who didn't get a PS3, I'm sorry. Of the 100% people who did happen to buy a PS3 just a few days ago, expect 60% of those people to sell on eBay. So for the small amount of $1,000 you too might be lucky enough to buy a PS3 for Christmas.

The people Sony hires to handle PR are all ridiculous. Michael Ephraim in particular is a heartless rich douche who feels he can say whatever he wants, because Sony has brainwashed him into beliving that people are monkeys and will continue to spend huge gobs of money on big expensive toys.

I don't understand this statement - Are you suggesting that a November release would have somehow meant people didn't have to line up? Of course they will sell out, they can't make enough of them, have you ever seen a supply and demand diagram. Or is it that you think that Sony is Magic!

Are you sure? I haven't heard some of the ludicrous stuff from MS or Nintendo that I heard from Ken Kutaragi. I think if they could shut him up for 10 minutes they would be getting much less flak.

Those lucky Australians get to line up and wait for a sold out item next year unstead of this Christmas. Sony ALWAYS favours PAL! Damn them!!!
