Happy Monkey Island music day

PS3 this, Wii that... whatever happened to the days when all you needed for a good time was a crappy computer and a copy of your favorite adventure game? Relive those days with a selection of music from LucasArts' brilliant Monkey Island series, performed on piano, mandolin, and live six-piece band (cool!)

These are pretty alright, but the CD version of the first Monkey Island was probably the best thing ever.

In fact, I think it's high time I break that bad boy out, it's been a few years. Maybe that will calm the voices.

The third game in the series was my favorite, but I truly like them all. You really can't go wrong with a good Lucas Arts adventure game.

Ohhhh there's a monkey in my pocket and he's stealing all my change!
His stare is blank and glassy and I suspect that he's deranged!

The whole Monkey Island series takes up a section in my top 10 favorite games :)

The first vid absolutely rocks.

I wish someday they make a quick compilation with updated graphics for people that never experience this series.

I love Michael Land's music from the LucuasArts days. The "Monkey Island" series and "THE DIG" soundtracks were my favourite.

Now, all we need is a Barbershop Quartet remix of "A Pirate I Was Meant To Be".

Seriously, when I played MI3 a second time, I immediately saved right before Guybrush could "Thanks guys. You were a real help out there.", and gave it it's own file. Afterwards, I would go back to that scene over and over again, and I still think that scene is an amazing example of how audio can be used in a game. Oh how I wish more games used the iMuse system (the thing that makes the music change a different mood at any given time). Would've done wonders for Ocarina of Time.

One of the few games I ever got a strategy guide for, mainly because it had the lines for all of the various songs in the game. Had a great time irritating my English teacher by randomly breaking into one of their songs.

Why does all music come in video form these days?

Hey I video'd the original Lucusarts composers who did the music for Monkey Island, and other adventure games. This was the Videogames Live concert in Hollywood Bowl. They played music from Outlaws, Grim Fandango and Monkey Island. I know the video sucks but I mostly recorded it for the music.

Wow, awesome, I've been playing a lot of Monkey Island recently. Dusted off my original CD of MI1 and beat that.

Monkey Island series? More like best video game music ever. And that's not a statement I make lightly.

Ah man, the second half of the second video (LeChuck) is what you want. It completely puts the first half to shame. :D

Original monkey island 1 cd? I've got it on the original 5.25" disks. I don't even think they make those drives anymore.

I still own two Monkey island games and I love them. Lucasarts games are the best and no game series will ever replace it.

ScummVM is definately nice for playing this games. I played the 'original' Sam and Max using ScummVM.

Those were the days... im always happy to find some versions of the the good old monkey island themes. Thank you very much. But why aren´t there downloadable Mp3´s ?
Is there some copyright on this versions ?
