eBay's PS3/Wii auction cancellations are a good move

What would be best for sony, sell a ps3 to someone that is scraping up the $600 to get the system and maybe a couple $60 games, or someone that can afford $2000 for the system and probably every game available for the ps3? A well-off person with a console will help game sales more than a gamer on a budget, do the math!!!

Why does everyone care so much? If the ebay sellers do not sell the PS3 for a ton now, they will once it launches when they are officially allowed to auction them because they are in hand. 400,000 consoles are not enough to meet demand. Tuck in your string and quit your crying because you did not sit in the cold waiting for your own preorder. And if you do not understand “supply and demand,” then ask for a refund on your education.

OR you could be a greedy pig that doesnt care if you keep the console (because its awesome) or if you make a killing off of selling it :)

If someone is so desperate to get there hands on a console that they are willing to pay over the odds, whats wrong? its called business!! if you dont want to pay big money then DONT. Supply and Demand people!! if noone bought then then no one would bother selling them. Holy crap you guys complaing about people selling these systems at a markup are retarded. Are you aware people look for houses that are cheap for the sole purpose of turning around and selling them at a large profit. People take advantage of foreclosure homes all the time. Pay the bank "X" amount, then turn around and make thousands reselling the house. The real problem here isn't the fact that you're pissed people are reselling the system. It's the fact that you don't have the funds or assets to do it yourself, or you are mad that you might not get a system yourself. Tough. From what I've heard the top model ps3 is going to be on an "open market" basis, in Japan....meaning stores can let the basic laws of supply and demand dictate what the consoles will be sold for. So you guys stop your whining. If you want a console for $1000 and have the money...then by all means go for it...if not...stfu.

Look ladies, some have said it once, and let me say it again.

IF, I decide to take off work, for lets say one day, and camp out for 24 hours to get a system at launch. and then slang it on EBay or craigslist. Then charge 3grand. and someone buys it. its worth it.

do the math, i had to do this on another board.

lets say the average worker is makign $15/hr. you stay out there camping for 24hours. remember the first 8 hours is straight time=$120.00 + the next 4 hours is time and a half=$90.00+the next 12 hours at double time=$360.00

total=$570.00 in man hours worked.
Food=$35.00(3 meals at your local CarlsJr=$6+/ 3 or more cups of starbucks to stay awake)
Chair, Pillow, Cover/Blanket to camp out on=$30.00(target)

Hazard Pay=can get sick and miss more work because of weather, can get robbed in the parking lot for a $600 system thats going for more if sold, can easily get into a fist fight with someone else in line trying to cut or saving spots for others that come up at the last moment.=$250.00

Transportation=cost of renting a ride for 1 day + gas it cost for me to get from my home to the retailer=

OH by the way and the basic price of the system is $599.00 plus tax.

So tell me how much is it worth? providing a service+ price of the system=a lot more then $600.00

by the way, anyone getting one off of ebay has it easy. they didnt' have to run around trying to get pre-orders, that sat in the comfort of their homes and waited on UPS/FED EX to deliver their PS3. Why? because they are to lazy or just dont feel like going thru the hassle.

Convenience cost people. it cost more to drive to work then to ride public transportation. thats because of the Convenience, of you being able to walk out the house later and still be at work on time, or be able to leave when you feel like it, dont have to deal with 50 people, etc, etc.

same here. so stop whining about it. and do the math.

if it was Bread and water, I would understand. thats a necessity. THIS PS3 is not a necessity. you and I both can do without it. But if you just cant, well go on ahead and bid away until your hearts content. Who's fault is it, that you can't control yourself and wait? YOURS. I want one to play. but aint no way on earth I'm paying more then the store price to have one to play. NO..... WAY... cause it aint that serious. at the end of the day its just a game a couple of HD movies.


first off anyone with common sense, would know to wait. for 1 reason. the first batch is always the glitch batch with all the issues(overheating, scratching disc for no reason, error messages, etc, etc). I'll wait to 07' if that means Sony will have it right by then. thats what i did with the ps2 and the 360. nothings changing for me. because i like my game consoles, and i like them to work properly. so if you want a possible half working system marked up to 3grand. so be it.

Some of you people need to grow up and stop getting angry over people who seize an opportunity to make money. It's not like we are forcing you to starve or anything.

It's basic supply and demand. If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at Sony for relasing this without having an adequate supply. Some people would prefer to pay 2k for a new system than wait out in the cold all night with the possibility of not even getting one... You may think these people are idiots, and I would agree with you if you do. This is capitalism, and without this system I don't think you'd have seen anything like the PS3 come around in the first place, so get over it.

Since wednesday night I was going through all of the proorder auctions and reporting alot of them to ebay and also reporting users with no feed back. (some good it did) Also I removed all of my auctions lastnight and decided that I was going to sell them to my freinds for retail that was 8 units from all over the state, EBAY=TEH GHEY

Do not blame the Japanese for selfless American greed. It's the Japanese who pretty much make many of the technology in our home today. Any smart person would buy a Japanese car, and those who are "I will only buy an American car" are obviously pro-american, and they feel so great they are patriotic. I am not so much anti-american, but more so anti-white(snotty) american. Greed is greed, morals are morals. They cannot and do not co-exist. This has not been the land of opportunity for a long time now. I understand that something like a PS3 is small; its not the PS3. It is all about what greedy, no-life people will do to make a quick buck. You think you are helping people by providing a service??? That obviously is just you lame excuse to tell yourself you are not a dumbass. That is the problem with you kind of people, and has always been. You are never satisfied with anything, always making excuses for yourselves, and hurting others in the process, because you only care about yourselves. This is what capitalism is, and this is what America is. And you want to be proud when you categorize yourselves as pro-american. Good one. America does not suck, just the 95% of the dumbasses living in it. For those of you saying you need to sell a PS3 to put you through school, or just selling it for greed; then maybe instead of being out at 5 AM in the morning, you should be studying and brush up on your spelling and grammar, because it is horrible. The greatest thing I and may will receive from this will be the result ending punishment you all will receive. If you actually read, instead of just playing games all the time, you will know that "greed" is a sin, in all forms, religion, beliefs, and morals; and you people will pay for it. Do not call yourself an American or even a good person, when you obviously do not care about your people and your country. PS3lvr, especially, you are by far one of the most idiotic, uneducated white-trash thing I can imagine. You sense of reason and life, is completely flipped.
