Paying Subscribers should form a class action lawsuit having their service turned off without any reason why, and then having it remain unusable past their announced timeline. Not cool.

Well according to the notice there is still roughly another half hour of outage (as of writing this comment), before they said they'd be online. The fact that we can log into live right now means they are probably almost done with whatever they were doing.

MN's reporting that the "Advanced Pack" is coming "later."

Probably indefinitely later, if at all. Which is good. I'm already not happy paying 15 dollars for a port, and therefore, I'm not paying it.

I managed to get lumines, and play through all of the free bit, but I can't get through to unlock the full version, or even to add £10 of points to be able to get the main game (without the extra levels)!

Nice game though, but not sure it's worth twice as much as any other arcade game. (Geo wars is still the best game I own, and that's only 400 points, not 1800. Seems a bit steep considering I'll lose my 360 to my wife when I do get the full version)

@ #5

You're not happy paying $15? Ok, go with the alternative then, get a PSP and pay $30 for it. That's a WAY better deal.

Kind of off-topic, but this is why I don't mind paying for the online service in comparision to the free 'service' that will be provided by Sony. When there is a problem with Xbox live, we have every right to b@tch and complain because we pay for this, and it should work correctly. When there is a problem with the Sony service and anyone tries to complain, all you'll here is "Don't complain, its Free" or "what did you expect, you don't have to pay for it".

That said, I too am having all sorts of problems. Lockups, can't see any content ect.

Software takes updating to improve. You don't sue somebody because they are improving their software and their service. How ridiculous! Man step outside for a moment and breath some fresh air! If your panties are that bunched up, you need to check into one of those gaming addiction centers! Everything will be OK...

I got lumines, full version, about 90mins after live was supposed to return to service. Works fine. I did notice that the addon pack wasn't around, though, as I'd planned on d/ling both. Was a 50MB download, no problems. Got Dig Dug at the same time.

Mister2zx3 you need to start taking Prozac or something. Live has been down for scheduled maintenance, its not unnecessary and just because you don't see any difference doesn't mean there isnt. any of the new features are being added to xbox.com not xbox live

For Christs sake people, xbox.com is still getting work done to it, so of course live is still going to be a wit wonky until they finish. The reasons the market place will be acting funny is cause they are changing its setup so that xbox.com updates automatically when new stuff is added. Until they get it fixed completely expect to hit a few bumps.

Will the whiners please shut up? You pay a measly .13 per day. Talking about lawsuits just makes you look like a moron especially when it's a planned outage that takes time. I can assure you that your .13 for the day does not come close to the cost of the upgrade in man-hours. And whining about service on a complex system like this only shows your ignorance of computer systems in general. Please stop.

"class action lawsuit"

LOL!!

Lawsuits are so cute, how's about accepting that the benefits of a day off service (server load increases, back end improvements) will outweigh the short amount of time you aren't able to get your 360 online.

do you sue your phone company every time you have a missed call?

For any Live user to complain about a day (or even two dare I say) of downtime for them to update there servers is ridiculous. They are providing a stellar service here people. Tell me that the Marketplace isn't one of the best things ever invented for us gamers??

I think Sony should be taking some serious notes on how to do the online component right.I only wish that I was just buying a 360 now, becasue it would blow my mind to see all of the D/Lable content om the marketplace for the first time.......80 + DEMOS!!! Wow..........

"Go outside?" "Go do something else?" Yeah thanks for the insightful advice, twelve-year-olds. I go outside all the time; I choose to GAME on Tuesday nights, so yeah, it was inconvenient. And it's still not up. Sure, it's no big deal, but don't suck Microsoft's weiner about how you'd gladly wait 2 days instead of one, and how great it all is. Jeez. It's a videogame fan site; of course things like this are going to be taken seriously.

Never mind all that. here's a complaint for you. Why aren't any of these "Arcade" Titles 2-player they are only 2-player vs. CPU or play your friend on live head-to-head. Maybe I would like to play bejeweled, uno or lumines with my wife. And yes I know I can if I connect to 360's together but that is just stupid.

I don't think anyone should sue over this; that's just silly.

I would hope, however, that the next time Microsoft brings the system down, they go ahead and claim it'll be a 48-hour downtime. Too many people in the software industry just aren't willing to recognize the old "estimate your times, then double them" rule. I have a hunch the engineers said it'd take about 24-48 hours, and the rest of the XBL team went with the lower number.

Of course, I don't work there, so I could be just plain wrong. Maybe they only expected it to take 12-24 hours, then something unexpected happened. Ahh.... nothin' like life in the internet age, eh?

I managed to download Lumines Live! this morning. I don't have a PSP, so this is my first time playing it. It's a very good game, and very challenging. I'm trying to catch up with the pace of the game. I'm catching on, but it's taking some time. Totally worth $15 in my opinion; and I'll buy the "Action Pack" (or whatever) when it comes out too.

It's too bad Live went buggy on me after I got the game ... At least I can still play it!

I had the Xbox Live disconnects most of you experienced, but it's getting better now; I downloaded Lumines Live in a few minutes without a problem. Still wondering what they're doing over there though...

They might as well integrate xboxlivepipeline.com into xbox.com for one thing. Then there's the promised Windows Live Messenger integration that is still rudimentary at best... I hope it's at least finished up sometime today, though.

That's putting it kindly.. You'd be a complete dumbass to even think of wanting to sue over something this trivial.. You'd end up loosing a ton of money paying the stupid lawyers, just to get your .30 cents back for the few days it was scheduled to be out.

Man, coming off of no power and heat for a week from the big october storm in Buffalo puts all in perspective. Live a week in frigid hell and you really begin to appreciate every little luxury you get. People that sit here and complain because of a slight problem that interferes with your entertainment for a few hours need to have a wake up call. Still there are 100000 homes and businesses with out any of the luxuries, (heat, electric, phone, cable, fresh food(freezers and fridges have long since thawed and spoiled), basements flooding) and most will be that way until sunday at the earliest. We were lucky it was only a week for us. Be thankful for all you do have.

Although I think taking the system down for a day (shouldn't they have live backups and test systems?) is reasonable--I think it'd be a sign of good will for Microsoft to add a day or two to everyones subscription. It's not like they would lose money, because most people will renew their subscription anyway.

Thats what Sony(SOE) would do for their MMOs if something un-expected happened.. Id be nice to see MS do this too.. Im sure the PPL in NY will be getting Credit back on their Elec & Ect bills..

About takin MS to court thou.. PPL have to wisen up.. How would that hold up in court to begin with, when if you read fine print when you signed up for Live you would notice that they all cover their lil Bhinds when it comes to Lawsuits & IP Services.. *exampe* "Gameplay may be different when online" ect..
