That's Meteos. How can you sell the rights to a game you do not own?

obviously a clone, but maybe the guys that designed the nonviolent FPS should take a hint and put their game on ebay. aside from it being a rip off the idea isnt all that bad.

He stole Q? Entertainment's IP. Now it's hot and he's trying to unload it on Ebay before the fuzz track him down.

Yea, sorry it is very similar to Meteos. It was my first game and I originally was trying to bring the Meteos style of gameplay to a more casual audience (the Bejeweled crowd etc). The rules are altered quite a bit to make it easier. Also you can't copyright gameplay, so this project is completely legal.

Also, I have some other games I'm working on that I really would like some funding to finish. That's the only reason I'm selling this game off.

I just bought an incomplete game on XBOX Live Arcade. It's called Lumines Live.

I'd like to read what a Joystiq opinion columnist has to say about that. Imagine what kind of change the industry would go through if you could copyright it!

I thought the original developers are already making a PC port of meteos.

Anyway, clone or not, he programmed the code from ground up. And it is his right to sell it if he wishes so. eh. Not that i'll ever buy anything like that.

Pshhhh C++?! MAYBE if he converted it over to C# for me AND priced it $100 I MIGHT consider it. It's not that hard making a game like this. I've made plenty of crappy little puzzle games in Visual Studio, but I'm not deluded enough to think they're actually worth anything. Hmmm 0 bids, imagine that...

Re: Tom, I doubt your C# puzzle games are anywhere near as polished.
I don't think its a lot of money to ask for that code. I think it might be tough to find the right buyer however.

This enterprising guy tries to make his way through the gaming world by creating and selling his own work and all some people want to do is bash. Oh well.

Admittedly, it really is a Meteos clone but there's nothing wrong with that. Also, the game looks reasonably polished and if you were going to make such a game yourself it would certainly cost you more than $1000 in your time.

Personally I think the guy should finish it himself and sell it on his own since it seems he has the skill to do so.
