Postal 3 announced for Xbox 360, PC

Mindless everyman violence news now, with the coming of Postal 3 being officially announced by high-lariously satirical and edgy game developer, Running With Scissors. Utilizing the Valve-developed Source engine, the game and soon to be Uwe Boll anti-masterpiece will reportedly (and repeatedly) hit the Xbox 360 and PC sometime in 2008. The developer told Firing Squad that the sequel would be made and published in conjunction with Russian software company, Akella, and that it would feature an open world design similar to that of the previous Postal.

Running With Scissors also noted that fan feedback (helpful summary: bleurgh) from Postal 2 would be noted as they work on the sequel. Those looking forward to having their next run-in with a polygonal Gary Coleman will be pleased to learn that a Postal collection with new extras is on the way, as is a CD filled with music "inspired by" the series. We imagine Shirley Manson features heavily on it.

and another 360 pc exclusive. xna and windows vista will make this a comm theme. alan wake, bioshock, shadowrun and on and on.

I tried this game on PC a couple of years back and it's quite good. It has the potential for violence but if you walk around on eggshells it can be somewhat tame at times. Lots of people mulling about but just try to pick a fight with someone on the street and EVERBODY starts shooting! Everyone is packing heat, from the cops to the ever foul-mouth hookers, to the pizza delivery boy. So if you stir the shit, it's gonna be a block party firefight! I hope I didn't give too much away, but I have to say Gary Coleman is fun-n-y-y-y-y-y!

You know, I'm sure this game will be just awful. Yet still a masterpiece compared to American McGee's Bad Day LA.

I'm sure they're equating the CD with "garbage", as in trash.

Now, for those of you interested in taking a more passive approach to stopping Uwe Boll:

Send RWS a letter, stating that you are not buying Postal 3, or any future Postal games unless they refuse to have any future ties with Uwe Boll (I understand that the current Postal contract can probably not be broken).

This will send the proper message about Boll where it belongs: by convincing those who own the video game rights to not sell them to Boll under any circumstances, or face their fan's wrath.

If I recall correctly, CGW magazine gave Postal 2 a rating of 0/5. Do we really need another mindless violence game which will mostly be ignored by gamers but will be ravaged by video game-hatin politicians and media-types and unfairly held up as an example of what video games supposedly represent?

anti-video game politicians have never even heard of postal since its not mainstream or popular as lets say a GTA. never mind the fact that a GTA game is done well and smart (in the terms of storyline, compelling characters, cultural satire) because it will still represent the face of evil in gaming since it has mass appeal.

postal SHOULD be a game that politicians go after, but when they realize practically no one knows or gives a shit about it, they know that it wont cause controversy/give them publicity for "protecting the children"

Postal is a funny game, its super violent and done in very bad taste and that is also the point.

As long as the game is rated AO there is NO reason to cencor it.

Personally I loved Postal 2 allthough I never finished it.

I wonder if the new one actually lets users do stuff from the Source SDK (yay faces on models!).

Postal 2 is a great game. You can pee on people, making them puke. You can cut peoples heads off with shovels. You can take cats and stick them at the end of your shotgun (anal). You can kill cops. You can smoke crack. Great game!
