We <3 downloadable demos at PSP Fanboy. So, whenever there's news about a new demo coming out, we get excited and pay attention. According to the YourPSP French website, a Halloween-themed demo of Loco Roco will be coming out soon. It'll supposedly require a new firmware (2.82) to run.
In addition, according to Kingplayer, a demo of Ridge Racer 2 will also be available. Considering the lack of new content put into the sequel, what are the odds that it'll be a level that's in the original?
The demos are supposed to come out on October 26th. Will you be upgrading your firmware to play them?

hmm. I upgraded to 2.81 cause I don't play homebrew anymore. Gets boring after awhile. I'll upgrade. And the 26th eh? hmm. I called my local Best Buy and the guy said that he doesn't believe that the PS3 demo will be up tomorrow.(we shall see about that!) And at Sony's Gamers Day they said the the kiosks will be out the 26th. and if 2.82 comes out the same day... maybe there will be some sort of small connectivity between demo kiosks and PSP..... naw....
My prediction: Firmware 3.0 comes out November 16th at 11:59am ( I have a funny feeling)

I love downloadable demos, but I'd rather have them for better/bigger titles. There's already been a Loco Roco demo, so the Halloween demo is pretty uninspiring. How about a downloadable version of the Killzone or Gangs of London demo discs that were sent out? That'd be even better. Ridge Racer 2 is a pretty lackluster game as well.

downloadable demos are eons better than the hard-to-get-a-hold-of demo disc. im a very big fan of demos anyway though. nothing upsets me more than taking a chance on a new game and ending up wasting $40-$50 because it sucks. i played the first Loco Roco demo to death and the Bounty Hounds demo saved me $40 and hours of frustration. Sony should definately keep a steady flow of these going. i would probably end up trying both of these since im not into the whole homebrew thing. im hoping, more so for a rss video streamer or support for another video format like mov, or avi, or wmv, or something. i skipped 2.81 since it really didnt excite me with any real updates other than security stuff.
