The best Guitar Hero video. Ever.
39
Watch as Pizza the Hut plays Guitar Hero on a projection screen with a double neck axe, only to walk off stage (read: his garage) after finishing.

I call bullshit. At 55 seconds you can see on the screen that both sides are successfully playing a two button chord. then it cuts to him and he's clearly only playing a single guitar.
BULLSHIT.

With a name like Erik, no wonder you hate GH -- no traditional viking theme songs.. here's one... "we're here.. we're vikings.. and it's our wive's we're striking!!"

@ 4.
Yeah, probably. Though it looks like he may have had some kind of foot pedal that makes it switch to using one of the necks for both inputs? Either way, it's a cool little video, if nothing else.

You are not too perceptive are you there buddy? If you watch closely you will clearly see he is running a splitter/joiner box (its what he keeps stomping on) in order to switch between the guitars or play both at the same time. Thats why he always plays the bottom guitar when playing the two guitar parts. The input from the bottom guitar gets switched to outputting the notes as if it is two guitars then back again.
Don't be a hater for the sake of being a hater. Especially if you are too dumb to pick up on something so obvious.
Cool video, but I would have like to see him hit every note to get a 10/10 not its a 9.7 with the bonus for creativity.

The pedal was nothing more than an Ibanez effects pedal for a real guitar. Have a few myself.
I agree, the video doesn't match with the playing. A lot of the times it shows 2 players on screen playing a note, while he's only playing 1 guitar.
Plus, common sense goes a long way. Why have 2 guitars when all you need is a pedal that makes 1 input mimic as 2? (if this were the case)

Not a very accurate Pizza the Hut representation. There wasn't any food falling of of him, even.

I take that back...it looks more like a BOSS brand effects pedal. But still, it's an effects pedal. At most a tuner or qualizer

So, UsedTabe, it'd be theoretically impossible to take apart an effects pedal and turn it into a cable splitter/repeater?

ummm is it just me, or is that video FRIGGIN JAW-SOME!!!!!!!!!!!! stop bickering about how he did it, just revel in the fact that Pizza-Man was wielding a Dual-Axe!

@ usedtabe... if both were always functioning as one then he would fail out due to all of the wrong notes coming from the silent part... (well not fail out in competition, but it would not work as successfully)

Maybe, buit highly unlikely. Might as well just build one from scratch. Besides, if you watch closely, he doesn't step on the "supposed switcher" until 1:49, while at 0:58 he's already playing a double note on just one of the guitars. So, assuming he stepped on the switcher to turn it on(as the video seems to be set up for you to believe), then how does he play a double note on 1 guitar at 0:58?

It's editing. He probably played it a few times, with different cameras, then spliced all the videos together to make it more dramatic. Like Milli Vanilli, or however you spell it.

that is a (Boss) guitar effects pedal, but it's been gutted, as noted by the absence of knobs and the fact that the cords are running through the holes for the 1/4in jacks. my bet is that he probably just used the switch/box because he had a broken one (or extra) that he could gut and use for the sake of reliability - you can't break a Boss.

First of all... I actually DONT hate guitar hero haha.. just enjoy seeing people get ticked off when I bash it. I mean it is a bit much, I believe... but whatever.
And hENNIFER.. that was hilarious. Indeed I do have viking blood flowing through me. Was that supposed to be an insult though?! I'm pretty proud of the fact that the Vikings dominated Europe and interbred with the Irish/English/Germans etc and gave them their light hair and light eyes. :) I'm pretty happy I'm a stud with blue eyes my self. Thanks hEN

Oh my god. Stop analyzing the god damn video and take it for what it is: a guy in a pizza suit playing on the most wicked mod ever. Don't get so into it, whether he actually played or not, just watch the thing and laugh at the idea. Pull the sticks out of yer bums.
I enjoyed it, either way.

I've never played Guitar Hero. This is an awesome video. Let the copycat-ing begin!

Dear Erik:
please stop your bitching and run out and buy Guitar hero before we all murder you.
OMG this is so awesome. To be born with a very crappy, very felt, pizza likeness is just too great. I hate my life

Id like to say something else. This is why I like joystiq better than kotaku or other game blogs. because they can post a video of a man in a pizza suit playing guitar hero with a weird guitar and give it a title like the best guitar hero video ever, and lots of people in the comments will agree.
run on sentences ftw!!

Nothing personal, but I think most people look dumb as hell while they are playing Guitar Hero. I know I sure do, and this guy is no different. The double axe is pretty cool, but even that and a pizza suit fail to make this interesting. You want funny, go to Wal-mart or Best Buy and watch the guy trying to show off playing Iron Man on medium and missing half the notes. That's funny.

@32:
Yes, people look like absolute jackasses when playing Guitar Hero. Or Dance Dance Revolution. Or any of those games. Or Karaoke.
That's actually a good part of the fun. So much the better if you're actually good at the game, but if you don't know how fun it feels to just cut loose and not give a damn about what people think, you're missing out on why it's so awesome watching a guy put on a frakking pizza suit and play on a double-axe.

Funny vid. I don't know what you guys mean by fake or real. I don't know how he was playing the guitar parts where he has to hold out notes on both guitars, but he was obviously playing both parts when they were alternating. because he suxxored then.

That's obviously a result of clever editing. Fake. NO ONE would put a video of themselves on the internet with that big blue station wagon looking thing in the background.

Regardless of what everyone thinks (fake or real bl bla) the uploader of the video says in the comments section
"MrPeetZa (1 week ago)
You can't buy it.. I built it from 2 controllers."
so there you go...
p.d. and what's up with the "viking dude", srsly

In a couple threads in the GH forums, this guy explains how he built the mod, and the PEDAL that allows you to switch between necks...: http://forum.guitarherogame.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=7495
"yes, then foot pedal makes it so that either neck sends a signal to both 1st and 2nd."
