Dang; im the 1-2% with a 1080p native panel.

Still, for a launch game, RFOM is gonna be impressive; im sure if they were more familiar with the PS3 they could have made it run at 1080p.

Are the cutscenes at 1080p though? There should have been a significant reduciton in disc size if they swapped all the 1080p cutscenes for 720p.

I have another question. One of my biggest pet-peeves for online games are terrible online interfaces. The only games that have really nailed them have been Halo 2 and the SOCOM franchise. You mentioned that there is a party system when playing online. So would you say that your online interface works much like it does in Halo 2, or is there a list of servers and games like the SOCOM franchise has as well?

Thanks, and keep up the great work

Sounds to me like this game is full of cuts scenes which will account for 10 Gig. This game better be ALL THAT; because it's the only game I am getting with my PS3 at launch. I do not see any other titles that standout. Also, I am glad to see is trying to put the DISK SIZE battle to rest.

Xbox fanboy here....

I gotta admit you have yourself one fine looking FPS coming for the PS3. I don't like sony, but I'm glad people shelling 500-600 bucks will at least have something to show for it. Gears for us, this for you, everyone's happy.

i wish a little more hype was put into FOM early early on (like 05 early). i had the wrong idea about this game untill i saw video and screenshots.

Blu-Ray vs. DVD9 is like any hand weapon, it's only as potent as the warrior wielding it and the situation in which it's used.

Geez Krazy Koala, your making it sound like ppl buying a PS3 are being raped unlike buying a 360..

Do your numbers, both systems are equally priced.. I still have the Reciept(s) for my 360(s)

My core unit at lauch costed me $598.44 when all was done and that only included one game..
Core unit was stolen while we were on vacation, Never to be found (our police suck at following up on stuff too)
My next-box would be a Premium unit and the final price on that was $525 and some change..

And remember with all that cash spent I have no HD Movie love.. thatd be another 200.. So in the end either bundle I bought would be more than just the base unit for the PS3..

--
Back the the subject.. Im glad they stated their point on the Blu-Ray -vs- DVD9.. Even if they have many HD cut scenes, thats fine with me.. Id hate to be playing a nice game, and then the Cut scenes look worse than the game.. So props to them...

Actually, unless the developer has no clue what they're doing, in-game cutscenes automatically look better than gameplay. There are fewer variables, a set number of characters on the screen, controlled camera direction, etc. All of that leads to the potential (it's up to the developer) for better looking models and textures during a cutscene.

Personally, I hate FMV cutscenes. It's a jarring experience to go from crappy in-game graphics to amazing pre-rendered graphics and then back again. Keeping the cutscene in-game keeps a consistent look and feel to the universe - it feels more immersive.

Oh, as far as the Xbox 360 prices go, it's your own fault if you got tricked into paying that much for a Core and a single game. Core machines cost $299, games $50-60; with tax, you should have paid no more than $400. Your Premium box was also a ripoff, since they only cost $400, no more than $450 with tax. Either you got ripped off, are lying about the price, or forgot to mention other items included in that purchase price.

Regarding HD movies, the PS3 is a better deal if you want to play them, if the games you like are on the machine, and if the majority of movies / TV shows you enjoy are on the BluRay format. Some people just don't want an HD movie player right now and I much prefer having the choice to opt-out of that purchase.
