Ever notice how the stronger a companies denies a rumor, the more quickly it turns true? Especially when combined with the magic phrase "we have no plans at this time. The crackpot rumors get a general "we don't comment on rumors and speculation" but the real ones get specific denials.

So... based on the response, It's almost certain that the bigger HD really IS in the works.

This is probably similar to how Nintendo claimed there would be no new Nintendo DS announced... then one week later, tada, the DS Lite!

Why would they dry up sales of their current hardware by announcing a better version is coming soon?

This doesn't mean that a 100GB drive couldn't be added as a part of an updated Premium pack, thus relegating the 20GB to a new Core system.

Yes, it was photoshopped, #3.

How is a shopped image misleading? It probably wasn't even made by someone who's a fan of the product, much less an employee of the company.

Anyhow, the answer to "misleading?" is obviously "no."

KineticOnline:

I was wondering what kept people from just taking the thing apart and putting in a bigger drive.

Wait does this mean we won't be getting a 256mb Memory Card, either?

http://www.gameinside.co.kr/bbs_thumb2/bbs_ims/1161252378_4.jpg

HOW COULD THAT POSSIBLY BE?! THAT 64MB CARD CLEARLY HAS 256MB WRITTEN RIGHT ON IT!

I can't understand why people need more than 14GB. Right now I have a lot of videos and demos on it and still have 4GB left. And if I need more space I'll delete some stuff. There's no need for a bigger HD now, maybe in the future.

But a bigger memory card is a good idea.
