Gears of War is 'goldish,' CliffyB done
"My job as designer of Gears of War is, well, more or less done," writes CliffyB in his latest blog, titled "fin." The Gears lead designer is now off to fulfill his duties for the hype machine, leaving us to assume that Epic's game is gold and ready to lead Microsoft's holiday charge. Of course, Cliffy "can't speak to the status of gold" ... or can he? During a recent interview with Major Nelson, the designer clearly drops the "gold" word:"We actually found out like about week before we went gold that [the final boss] was actually too tough to beat, even on casual." "Too tought to beat?"
Nigga obviously never played Ninja Gaiden... Pussy

I don't like the fact that they dumbed down the AI to make it easier to defeat the games boss, but from the Major Nelson podcast interview it seemed as if this was only done on the casual difficulty, and not on all difficulties, so I'm hoping that proves to be the case. I'm tired off games that are just too easy to blow through.

Too tough to beat sounds like the kind of game this industry needs. I'm glad to hear also that Monkey Ball Banana Blitz will have "impossible" levels. Portal looks promising in this aspect too...

My friends and I simply cannot wait for this game. Two weeks until gaming pleasure erupts on my 360. I'm even considering taking off the day after release to allow for as much play as possible.

I'm thinking the "Insane" difficulty will be pretty tough regardless of the adjustments to "Casual".
Can't wait for this game. I've been playing quite a bit of Ninja Gaiden Black lately, and it's amazing how just pure fun and great gameplay can keep you coming back to something despite the really rough difficulty. I'm hoping this is the same way.

Jose, you're mexican. I find your use of the word nigga in your post offensive.

I heared Rainbow Six Vegas had better "stop-n-pop" action.
I really want to see more of this game than the overplayed demo level and the one type of enemy with one type of gun. We've seen the same basic level since pre-E3!

Navstar has a good point. There doesn't seem to be a lot of what the public is seeing of both Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man that looks any different from the rest of it. I take the Resistance reference back, I've seen some intricate inside areas. I think the engine for this game is pretty nice, but you can't get me to buy an updated Killswitch where I can wield a chainsaw on my gun without having to switch weapons. There just isn't enough incentive there. I wish it the best, because it will make or break the 360 this holiday season.

LMAO @ 1 - Nice!

Is it just me or does Gears of War look like another pile of cliché garbage...?
