Wiimote vs. Sixaxis, Round 1: Downhill Jam vs. Project 8

While Downhill Jam and Project 8 are two very different takes on the Tony Hawk license, they share enough commonalities (ollies, grinds, rotations, grabs, etc.) to warrant a Wiimote vs. Sixaxis comparison.

Downhill Jam (Wii) and Project 8 (PS3) both feature motion-controlled skating, providing the gaming public with an ideal opportunity to judge the Wiimote and Sixaxis against each other. We'll have to wait until after November 19th to conduct hands-on trials, but a handy clip (see embedded video) has been spliced together giving us a preview of the showdown to come.

Gimmick is described as something that makes itself stand out while not changing the overall experience at all. The wiimote is revolutionary and innovative, it's not a traditional controller at all, with 3D movement and a variety of uses for games. SIXAXIS equals gimmick, it looks and plays just like the dual shock 2, but with an added Kirby Tilt N' Rumble, without the rumble. You SONY fanboys piss everyone off, Nintendo always does something to bring something new to the table, SONY hasn't done a damn thing except steal everyone else's ideas and rehash old games.

I think the PS3 version wins, because you can pull off tricks with it (Sixaxis (ps3) vs. Three axis (wiimote)).
It looks like the Wii version doesn't do anything but turn where you are.
