The music is a MAJOR letdown in this game. The world is cool, the voice acting is fantastic but the atmosphere is not right at all. Without Uematsu it's not the same.

Tell your corporate overlord that internet radio = audio stream... not plugin or extra application to install.

I found the music pretty good, or at least good enough to buy the Limited Edition soundtrack. Then again, I also liked Radiant Silvergun's soundtrack, so what do I know?

I would listen to this, but even after signing in with my old AIM screenname, it asked me to install some annoying .exe which, being AOL, who knows what it'll do to my PC performance. Is there a regular streaming version?

@Islandlife:

I just noticed this:

"reveil"?

Perhaps you mean "reveal"? Or "revel" or "revile"? Which one. I mean, the first one makes the most sense, but you don't even have the right LETTERS to make that typo.

Sorry my mistake, but c'mon. Do you think that anyone who has ever read any of your anti-Sony posts believes for a second that you were ever indifferent to Sony. C'mon, who are you trying to fool. No, seriously, who are you trying to fool.

@IslandLife

um... *looks around shiftily*

You?

Your right. But this latest thing is the nail in the coffin. I was probably gonna get a PS3 down the road when FF13 and KH3 and maybe FF7 Remake came out. But now its gonna take a hellofalot more than even that for me to jump back in Sony's boat.

The first exposure I had to Sakimoto's music (Final Fantasy Tactics) I was impressed at the quality and at the air it gave that game. But when I heard more of his other game soundtracks, it all sounds way too alike. It seems to be more of his style to write atmospheric music rather than melodic music, as we're used to in the soundtracks of Final Fantasy. I haven't played XII yet so I don't know whether the overall game atmosphere got enough of an overhaul to make this kind of music fitting. But if that's not the case, then I'll be a little disappointed that Sakimoto seems to have trouble adapting his musical style to suit different artistic visions.

Then you apparently can't be in Microsoft's boat either after they've screwed so many companies over. I'm sure you read up on at least a few lawsuits from smaller companies against MS.

I loved Sakimoto's work on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance but was less impressed with the Vagrant Story music. It was mostly ambient dungeon sounds. Sure it fit the mood of the game perfectly but not all that listenable outside of that. Although it might make for good music at a Halloween party...hmmmm

FFXII has great music when played with the game. I still haven't managed to listen to all 4 discs of the OST.
