No big reveals, but still some info I hadn't heard yet. As much as everyone likes to bitch about sony, they have't let me down yet. Although I liked the article more the first time I read it before Joystiq added so many negative comments in parenthesis.

Here in Minneapolis we've just found out that several of the left leaning blogs have been collecting checks to support certain canidates these last couple months.

Im just saying

i don't understand how you can trip over the power supply cord unless you have your 360 on the ground in front of your tv....

i thought wireless controllers were so that you can put it on your av rack...at least thats what i do.

yeah my 360 is pretty loud to but its a moot point since i can't hear it from my couch which is 15 ft away :D

Anyone else entertained that Joystiq got called anti-MS, pro-MS, anti-Sony, and pro-Sony in the same thread? There's a few calling them pro-Nintendo; we just need someone saying they're anti-Nintendo and we have the Illogical Fanboy Trifecta.

Also, for your first parenthetical statement - is there anything more useless than an eject button that works from a distance? Maybe other people around here are much mroe advanced than I in regards to technology or psychokinesis. However, as I don't have a Hi-Tech Wireless Distance Moving Things Device or the ability to move things with my mind, I have to get off my ass and manually switch discs whenever I want to watch a different movie or play a different game anyhow. Since I'm already right next to the machine in question to swap the discs, it's really no extra effort to hit the eject button while I'm there.

boy xbox fanboys and this stupid site are really clinging to their anti sony rhetoric. they couldn't even say r:fom was a bad game as hard as they tried. when i see stuff like "i hate its not a wired controller" or "give me a power brick anyday" or "the controller is too light" or "touch sensitive sucks" it just lets me know that you guys are grasping for straws. give it up. the ps3 will be a dream and if you don't want it or hate sony, don't buy one! how many of you idiots actually bought stuff from lik sang? right, not many. so who cares if they can't price gouge anymore. serves them right.

What's with the needless play by play commentary? It wasn't helpful, witty, or funny.

"32. Fairly easy to beat Xbox controller's battery life when you have no rumble.

The PS3 will allow the user to switch it on and off through the controller (by holding down the PS button), yes."

Umm if you mean the rumble, well, no you can't because suxasses doesn't HAVE rumble. If you're talking about power to the controller, well, we've been doing that for a year with the 360 by holding down the glowing X button. Boy Sony sure is original isn't it?

''Fairly easy to beat Xbox controller's battery life when you have no rumble.''

But it have gyroscope, if you don't know how it works use wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyroscope

Spining very fast, that devours batteries.

"The Deluxe PS3 has WiFi b/g built in, while the Basic PS3 does not. If the PS3 SIXAXIS controller communicates via WiFi, how will they connect to the Basic PS3 with it's lack of WiFi?"

If the controller were using Wi-Fi to connect to the console, then Sony would be ripping our balls off with
the basic PLAYSTATION 3. But Its a good thing the controller connects vie Bluetooth eh?

GET OVER THE DAMN CONTROLLER BEING LIGHT

thats the big "at first" thing with the ps3, after your first gaming session it will feel normal and everything is back to the way it was.

seriously you guys gotta get off of the, "oh this is way too light, how can this controller function?!?!?!"

get over it.

your = possesive, not to be confused with "you're"-- meaning "you are".

it's = "it is"-- not to be confused with "its", which is a possesive.

The English language is fun! XD

Just so everyone knows (but mostly Pulse), backwards-compatibility like Sony's is a nice feature but should NEVER EVER be the reason to buy the console. Being able to play PS2 games on it is great when you own it but buying the system to play games you play right now is stupid.

"The Blu-ray disc drive is slot loading, and it works like a dream (yeah, but does it have a paperclip-hole fail-safe?)" Major LOL. The PS2 was a cheap DVD player at its launch. The PS3 (don't care about fact number three) is a cheap Blu-ray player at its launch. Anyone else sensing "disc read error" messages coming at the Sony gamers?

@ sulu (cool name, Mr. Sulu)

Since when do gyroscopes spin really fast? Especially in the PS3 controller? Unless you take your hands off the controller or throw it into the air, the gyroscope inside the PS3 controller should never make an entire revolution in any direction.

Is it me, or do Xbox gamers seem to repeat the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...see how annoying it is? -_-

And if it isn't a scratch record, its simply taking an itsey bitsey peice of news and making an issue out of it just to bring Sony down :S

It makes me wonder, don't you have anything to do?

Can you believe, that just by seeing the title of the article, I already know exactly what fanboys have to say, its that predictable, theres no originality:

SIXXAXIS ARTICLES:

- Blows up in your hand (heard hundreds of times chance of this happening: 1/1000000000)
- Have to wait with nothing while your controller gets replaced (Same, heard several times, chance of this happening: Unless you are thick enough to not have another controller after 2 years or so, or you play 24/7 so it only lasts a year, you should have no problems or issues with this)

PS3 ONLINE ARTICLES:

- Sony will fail as they have no Gamerscores or achievements (A fairly new one, but now heard lots, chance of this happening: Who knows except the fanboys, apparently they seem to think so, that means they must be Einstien)

Can't be arsed to go on, but you get the general idea :P

I would have read all of the comments, but I only made it to around 50 something before realizing that alot of you people need to get a fucking grip.

To the fanboys: quit whining. Nobody cares how much you love your console and hate the other guys'. It's tired, kindergarten bullshit. Can't you just stop and enjoy what ALL the companies have to offer? And if you don't like it, be free to not like it, but cut the uncalled for trash talking, "my pee-pee's bigger than your pee-pee", bullshit out.

And to the anti-Joystiq kids: If you're so concerned with Joystiq's bias, why read it? There are plenty of other gaming news sites out there. Joystiq is a BLOG, written by BLOGGERS, not a news site written by journalists. Joystiq writers are allowed to express opinions in their own writing, so fucking let them. Think Joystiq has a Sony bias? Well sorry if they don't particularly enjoy a $600 system. Xbox bias? Expensive games, buggy launch systems, over-heating issues? Hell, they've even given Nintendo it's share of hazing; what with the expensive Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo, the virtual console pricing and the fact that Opera isn't free anymore. As well as the fact that the external storage Nintendo refferred to got shot down, as it now appears SD cards are the sole storage medium.

Joystiq is an opinion filled blog. Not a news site. They can say whatever they want. Jesus.

Don't ask me how I did it, but if my Oblivion play times are correct, I was able to squeeze damn near 40 hours worth of juice out of my batteries. Just your standard Rayovac AA's bought at a gas station. And I didn't really have any qualms about the 360's noise, just the fact that the moment I took it back to work (I don't have a 360, I just borrowed one from my place of employment), I got the red lights of death. Still, I fell in love with the 360 and I do want to get one.

But onto the topic at hand. To me, rumble, force feedback, whatever you want to call it, is important to me. Its actually one of the reasons I don't have a Wavebird on my Cube. Couple that with the Lik Sang fiasco, and the fact that the tilt controll was just a full out rip-off of the Wii's motion controll *ducks under the PS3 fanboy flames* I don't see how Sony's latest video game offering is worth it. Just my 2.567 cents, adjusted for inflation.

To me the graffix 4 360 is not that impressive 4 a next gen system.I was expecting more. And yes it is noisy. The Ps3 adding on the motion sensor was a cheap shot at nintendo
